Meloetta is a Pokémon characterized by its feminine, anthropomorphic appearance. Its hair features musical bar-style streaks, and its arms and hands resemble quarter notes (♩). It has pupil-less eyes that look like whole notes. A jewel adorns its forehead, and it sports a black headpiece shaped like a treble clef, which also functions as a microphone commonly used by singers. Meloetta's oval-shaped head constitutes about one-third of its body height and half its width. In its Aria Forme, Meloetta possesses light blue eyes and wavy, flowing hair with light-blue ovals resembling whole notes. In its Pirouette Forme, it has auburn hair styled in a high bun and red eyes. In both forms, its midriff and eyes match its hair color. The species does not have a defined gender.
Artists in Unova credit Meloetta's beautiful music and dance for inspiring numerous works of art, music, and songs, making the Pokémon popular among musicians and dancers alike. Meloetta's melody employs a unique vocalization method capable of influencing the emotions of listeners, inducing feelings of happiness or sadness in both humans and Pokémon. This melody can even unlock ancient ruins, such as the Abyssal Ruins. If sorrow fills the world, Meloetta may lose its signature melody and dancing ability. Like many Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, Meloetta can fly and turn temporarily invisible. Additionally, its song can summon and control the original three Forces of Nature Pokémon using the Reveal Glass, although this process causes Meloetta significant pain.
Forms
Meloetta has two distinct forms: Aria Forme and Pirouette Forme. It is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Relic Song, which enables it to switch between these forms. In Aria Forme, Meloetta sings enchanting melodies, while in Pirouette Forme, it performs elegant dances.
