Quilava is a quadrupedal Pokémon with a sleek, elongated body. Its upper half is colored in a dark bluish-green hue, while its lower half is cream-colored. It features triangular ears that have dark red interiors, a rounded nose, and striking red, triangular eyes. Each of its paws has three toes. There are five red spots on its body capable of emitting flames: two vertically aligned on its forehead and three horizontally arranged on its rear.
Prior to engaging in battle, Quilava positions itself so that its back faces the opponent, allowing its flames to confront the adversary. It employs these intense flames in conjunction with blasts of superheated air during combat. Interestingly, its fur is flame-resistant, offering protection against other fire-based attacks. Although rare in the wild, Quilava can occasionally be found residing in grasslands. When exposed to the enigmatic energy emanating from Mount Coronet in the Hisui region, Quilava's evolutionary path changes, transforming it into a Ghost-type Pokémon known as Hisuian Typhlosion.
