Lucario is a bipedal, canine-like Pokémon primarily colored blue and black. It has short, round spikes on the backs of its forepaws and one on its chest. Red eyes, a long snout, and ears are distinctive features. When it opens its mouth, two pairs of pointed teeth become visible—one pair in the upper jaw and another in the lower. Its torso is covered with cream-colored fur, while its thighs have blue fur that looks like shorts. The tail is medium-length and blue. Lucario stands on its toes rather than its entire foot. Four black appendages hang from its head and rise when it reads or manipulates aura, a special energy it can sense.
Lucario can analyze auras to predict opponents' movements and track targets. With training, it can read auras to understand the emotions of living beings over half a mile away. However, this ability sometimes reveals unwanted information, leading to stress. Lucario can also use this energy offensively, creating explosive spheres. It understands human speech and reportedly communicates via telepathy.
Proud and loyal to its Trainer, Lucario trusts only those with righteous hearts. This rare Pokémon usually resides deep in remote mountains to hone its skills. Though primarily carnivorous, hunting in packs, one Lucario was observed eating berries and plants like roses. It even ate chocolate, which isn't part of its natural diet.
Forms
Lucario can Mega Evolve into Mega Lucario. As Mega Lucario, its cream fur grows longer, and its thighs slim down. Additional spikes appear on its crimson paws and feet. Its red eyes turn orange, and its aura-sensing appendages lengthen, with two tipped in crimson. Each shoulder develops a spike, and black markings form on its blue fur due to heightened aura. In Kalos, Mega Lucario was believed to be the first discovered Mega Evolution until Mega Rayquaza's discovery in Hoenn. People describe Mega Lucario’s fighting style as ruthless, as it becomes immersed in explosive energy, enhancing its combative instincts and showing no mercy to opponents.
