Luca leads a group of prostitutes in Albion. With fiery red hair and an unwavering loyalty to her girls, she shares a romantic bond with the Holy Iron Chain Knight Jerome. When Jerome gifted her a pearl necklace, she evenly distributed the pearls among her girls, convinced that unity could help them survive the chaos of the heretic hunts by preventing jealousy.
Luca took in the lost Casca, whom she called Elaine, the former mute commander of the Hawks. She covered Casca's face in bandages, pretending she had contracted syphilis. When Nina, a cowardly prostitute, threatened to betray Luca to a nearby goat-worshipping cult, Luca slapped and then spanked the blonde girl, forcing her into submission. When Pepe, another of Luca's girls, was accused of heresy, Luca defended her. They were saved from arrest by Guts' timely intervention.
After discovering that Luca had seen Casca, Guts asked Luca to reunite him with Casca, but Nina had already taken the mute girl to the cult. When Casca and Nina were brought to Mozgus, Luca bribed a guard to enter the monastery. While Guts searched for Casca, Luca freed Nina from imprisonment. Following Isidro's challenge to Mozgus, one of the priest's torturers attacked, causing Luca to fall. Nina tried to hold Luca, but Luca let go, only to be caught by the Skull Knight, sparing her injury.
Luca later met the Egg of the Perfect World, who explained his purpose to her. As Albion was overrun by monsters, Luca hid herself and Nina in a barrel, allowing them to survive the carnage.
