Swampert is an amphibious Pokémon with a robust build and four sturdy limbs. Its two longer front limbs serve as arms, while the shorter rear limbs provide support when it stands upright. Swampert can move in a semi-bipedal manner. It often adopts a hunched posture on its three-toed feet, using its hands to pick up or grasp objects. However, it tends to run on all fours when moving around. The Pokémon has orange, conical gills protruding from round patches on either side of its face. Two large, fan-shaped black fins extend from above its orange eyes to the back of its head. A similar black tail fin extends upward from its hindquarters. Swampert's primary color is cobalt blue, with a white abdomen, orange gills, and matching orange padding on all four limbs.
Swampert possesses immense physical strength, capable of dragging massive boulders weighing over a ton, overpowering opponents, and swimming faster than a jet ski. It can even tow large ships while swimming. Its arms are as hard as rocks, able to shatter enormous boulders into pieces. With keen eyesight, Swampert can see clearly in murky waters. Additionally, it can predict storms by sensing subtle changes in wave sounds and tidal winds through its fins. When a storm approaches, Swampert piles up boulders to protect its nest, which it typically builds on beautiful beaches. Covering itself in mud helps keep its skin moist. Swampert has also been observed living on these picturesque beaches.
Forms
Swampert can Mega Evolve into Mega Swampert. As Mega Swampert, this Pokémon gains significant bulk. Its upper body and arms become more muscular, contrasting with its squat lower body. The orange padding on Swampert's thighs disappears but reappears as two additional patches on each wrist and one patch on each shoulder. This padding and its gills take on a darker, redder shade of orange. The gills grow larger and bulbous, with filaments extending past its mouth. The black fins on its head thicken and now extend down past its shoulders. The black tail fin remains fan-shaped but forms a short ridge extending up to its forehead, flanked by the aforementioned head-fins. The webbed digits on Mega Swampert's "hands" turn black and feature better-defined articulations. According to the anime, Mega Swampert fills the organs on its back with air before diving underwater or battling; it uses that pressure to increase the power of its punches.
Evolution
Swampert evolves from Marshtomp and is the final form of Mudkip.
