kuyou

Kuyou, the blind stargazer of Heaven during the previous emperor's reign, was in love with Ashura-ou and revealed to him the original prophecy about his son's fate. After Taishaku-ten takes power, she is imprisoned for refusing to serve him. At the start of the manga, she escapes and hides in her old temple, where Yasha discovers her. Following Ashura-ou's request, she informs Yasha of the prophecy, prompting him to set out in search of Ashura. While Yasha is away, Bishamon-ten locates her and kills her by impaling her to the temple wall with her staff.
