Souma is Kendappa-ou's best friend and the last survivor of the Souma clan. Her clan was annihilated by Taishaku-ten's army due to a legend that the Souma clan could grant immortality to one person if they gave their blood to them. Her parents hid her, saving her from death. Since then, she has dreamed of avenging her clan's murder by Taishaku-ten.
While traveling, Souma collapsed from exhaustion in a forest and was found by Kendappa-ou, who helped her recover. The Souma clan were skilled gardeners, making Souma adept at creating healing herbs and medicines. She wields Twin Moon Crescents, known as Sougeppa, which are small, sharp, crescent-shaped boomerangs she throws in combat.
Souma serves as a spy for the group, scouting ahead to detect any of Taishaku-ten's forces. It is revealed that she and Kendappa-ou are in love with each other. In the final battle, Kendappa-ou fought Souma, believing that Souma couldn't defeat Taishaku-ten and preferring to kill her herself rather than see her die by his hand. After mortally wounding Souma, Kendappa-ou took her own life. Souma tried to give her blood to Kendappa-ou to save her, but Taishaku-ten prevented her from doing so.
