Shinx is a quadrupedal, feline Pokémon that looks like a lion cub or lynx kitten. Its front portion is light blue, while the back is black. It has a short tuft of fur on its head and smaller tufts on each cheek. The top tuft is shorter in female Shinx. This Pokémon features large, oval ears with yellow, star-shaped markings inside; yellow eyes; and a tiny, red nose. When it opens its mouth, small fangs can be seen in its upper jaw. A black marking encircles Shinx's neck like a collar, and there are yellow bands above its forepaws. Male Shinx have black hind paws, whereas females have blue ones. Its long tail is surrounded by spiked fur at the base and ends with a yellow star shape.
Shinx generates electricity through the extension and contraction of muscles in its forelegs, causing its fur to glow. If it senses danger, its fur can shine brightly to blind predators, allowing it to escape. Excited trembling indicates that Shinx is producing significant amounts of electricity. It can communicate with other Shinx by shining and shaking the tip of its tail. Shinx has an aggressive nature, so taming one is said to require considerable patience.
Evolution
Shinx evolves into Luxio, which then evolves into Luxray.
