The King of Midland is primarily responsible for Griffith's rise to power. As the ruler of Midland and father to Princess Charlotte, he plays a pivotal role in Griffith's journey.
During a nearly lost battle, the King's army is saved by the Band of the Hawk. Impressed by Griffith's strength and brilliance, the King quickly promotes him through the ranks. He elevates Griffith to nobility and bestows upon him the title of "Guardian of Midland," always eager to reward his achievements.
However, the King's favorable view of Griffith changes abruptly when Griffith, in a final act of desperation after losing his most prized possession, seeks out Princess Charlotte.
