Keldeo is a quadrupedal, horse-like Pokémon with a cream-colored body. It has a short, rounded snout with large nostrils and blue eyes. Its most distinctive feature is its large, feathery red mane, along with long, dark blue eyebrow-like protrusions. Keldeo also sports a single curved horn on its forehead. The back of its head and neck are covered in light blue fluffy fur. Its hooves, which are blue and placed backward, can eject water. Its tail resembles an elaborate feather, colored light blue with white spots.
According to legend, a fire broke out in the Moor of Icirrus due to a war among humans. During this fire, Keldeo was separated from its parents. However, Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion took it under their care, acting as surrogate parents. They taught Keldeo essential knowledge and survival moves. As Keldeo grew stronger, it eventually surpassed these three Pokémon. One day, Keldeo left the forest for unknown reasons. When they reunited, the four Pokémon learned the move Secret Sword together. Keldeo was further trained by the Swords of Justice. In Generation V, Sacred Sword was one of its signature moves.
Keldeo enjoys traveling the world, often appearing near beautiful bodies of water. It trains continuously to improve itself. Using water ejected from its hooves, it can walk across water surfaces effortlessly.
Forms
Keldeo has two forms: Ordinary Form and Resolute Form. Upon learning the move Secret Sword, Keldeo transforms from its Ordinary Form into its Resolute Form. In this form, the dark blue protrusions on its head become shorter and lighter, resembling ears. Its horn turns dark blue, grows larger, and becomes ridged. Three feathers—colored aqua blue, green, and orange—appear on the side of its head.
In Resolute Form, Keldeo reaches its full power. It is believed that when Keldeo becomes resolute, its body fills with strength and agility. Its jumping abilities become so fast that it is difficult to follow. The horn on its forehead contains hidden power, capable of transforming into a sword that can cut through anything. It is said that Keldeo must endure tough battles for its forehead horn to develop, thereby unlocking its true power.
