Jirachi is a petite, white, humanoid Pokémon. It possesses short, stubby legs and relatively longer arms. Beneath its arms are flaps that resemble long sleeves. On its belly, there's a curved seam hiding a third yellow eye with a cyan pupil, referred to as its "true eye." Jirachi also has a pair of regular oval eyes on its face, accompanied by small blue triangular markings underneath. Atop its head sits a large yellow structure with three outward-extending points: one from the top and one on each side. Each point features a teal tag known as a "wish tag." From either side of this yellow structure hang rounded extensions, framing Jirachi's face. Two yellow streamers emerge from its back, resembling comet tails.
Jirachi spends most of its existence in hibernation, waking up for only seven days every thousand years. It can also be awakened by a pure voice. While asleep, it is encased in a tough, crystalline shell to shield itself from threats. Despite being asleep, Jirachi can still engage in combat if necessary, as depicted in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. During its brief periods of wakefulness, Jirachi is believed to grant wishes. However, in the movie "Jirachi: Wish Maker (M06)," Jirachi cannot create desired objects but instead teleports them to the wisher. In contrast, the episode "Searching for a Wish! (EP132)" from "Pokémon the Series: Black & White" shows Jirachi granting wishes without teleportation. In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Jirachi grants wishes only when its true eye is open, and it can fulfill just three wishes every millennium, inscribed on its wish tags. Here, Jirachi demonstrates the ability to create artificial Pokémon through its wishes, such as animating seawater into a Kyogre shape. Similarly, in the movie, Jirachi's power is exploited to generate a monstrous Groudon. The film reveals that Jirachi awakens with the appearance of the Millennium Comet, and its third eye absorbs the energy needed for hibernation. It's said that Jirachi's wish-granting ability also endows it with formidable attack power, as seen when it forms a concentrated light beam to strike targets. Although exceedingly rare, Jirachi can be found in mountainous regions.
