Higana is a trainer from the Hoenn region. She is portrayed as a mysterious Draconid woman and a crucial figure in the Delta Episode post-League storyline of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, embarking on a journey to fulfill her objectives.
In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Higana makes her first appearance in the Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire chapter.
She is initially encountered at the Sky Pillar, where she comes across Ruby during his climb up the tower. Identifying him as an intruder, Higana assaults Ruby with her Salamence. By deceiving Aster with Pokéblocks, Ruby manages to lure Higana out enough to grab and pin her down. Ruby then discloses that he knows who Higana is and demands information about the impending crisis threatening Hoenn. Refusing to answer, Higana commands her Salamence to attack, forcing Ruby to release her. She subsequently uses her Mega Anklet to initiate her Salamence's Mega Evolution into Mega Salamence. With the enhanced power, Salamence regains the upper hand, but Ruby counters by having Latios Mega Evolve too. Eventually, Ruby triumphs over Higana’s Salamence and reveals his prior encounter with it. Higana recognizes that Ruby must be the person who defeated her Salamence nine years ago when she tried to free Rayquaza from the Pokémon Association.
Higana commends Ruby for his battling prowess and agrees to share everything she knows. She divulges that a meteorite will strike the planet in nine days, leading to its destruction along with all its inhabitants. She also expresses her disdain for the Devon Corporation due to their reliance on science and technology to prevent the meteorite's fall. As she prepares to depart to concentrate on her mission to stop the meteorite, Higana thanks Ruby for aiding in Rayquaza's liberation.
