Garchomp is a bipedal, draconic Pokémon primarily colored dark blue. It features red on its underbelly extending from the lower jaw to the mid-abdomen, including the undersides of its arms. A golden patch comes to a point below the red on its belly, and a golden star shape adorns the tip of its snout. Garchomp has horn-like appendages resembling jet engines, giving it a hammerhead shark-like appearance. These horns help it sense prey from afar. Its large mouth contains razor-sharp teeth. The feet have three white talons each, and each arm has a single large, white claw for a hand. Curved fins sprouting from its arms create wings enabling flight. Garchomp also has a large dorsal fin and another on its tail resembling a shark's tailfin. The male’s dorsal fin has a notch. Small, white spikes protrude from its upper arms and legs, with gill-like slits on the sides of its neck. Its eyes are intense, featuring black sclerae and gold-colored irises.
Garchomp can fly at incredible speeds to catch prey, matching a jet's speed and cutting down trees with wind blades. It moves in both air and underground. It preys on bird Pokémon, consuming entire flocks whole. Sometimes it battles Salamence in the air over food. After catching prey, it returns to its den before cooling down. Fine scales reduce drag for easier flight and injure attackers. It uses protuberances as sensors to find specific prey. Garchomp lives in mountainous regions, both volcanic and boreal, typically dwelling underground. It is seldom seen in the wild. Garchomp is described as having a feral nature, requiring extreme caution upon encounter.
Forms
Garchomp can Mega Evolve into Mega Garchomp. When it Mega Evolves, several features become more angular, like its head and shoulders. Five tooth-like spikes sprout from each side of its abdomen, and red spikes grow from its knees. The claws and fins on its arms merge due to excessive Mega Evolution energy, forming sharp, red blades. Garchomp, proud of its winglike fins, becomes enraged seeing them transform into scythes. Its scythes can slice the ground apart, and Mega Garchomp viciously tears up opponents with them.
Evolution
Garchomp evolves from Gabite and is the final form of Gible.
