Aipom is a monkey-like Pokémon with a unique feature: a three-fingered hand at the end of its tail. Its body is covered in purple fur, while areas such as its face, inner ears, belly, feet, and the tip of its tail are beige. Aipom typically sports a cheeky grin and round, blue eyes. Its large, rounded ears make its head appear disproportionately big compared to its body. There's a cowlick on top of its head that tends to be longer in females than in males. In contrast to its feet, Aipom’s arms are simple, stubby, and purple.
This Pokémon makes extensive use of its versatile tail, which it employs cleverly for various tasks. The tail is robust enough to hold Aipom securely to branches, allowing it to suspend its body mid-air, yet delicate enough for picking fruit and handling objects. When sleeping, Aipom wraps its tail around tree branches to prevent falling. Due to its frequent reliance on its tail, Aipom's actual arms become less dexterous over time and tend to be clumsy. This Pokémon resides high up in the canopies of tropical, temperate, and even boreal forests, using its tail to maintain balance as it swings from branch to branch. In the Alola region, Bounsweet is its preferred food.
