Formerly the princess of Midland, Charlotte fell in love with Griffith almost instantly. After Guts defeated Griffith in their duel, Griffith slept with Charlotte and was subsequently imprisoned and tortured for a year. During this time, Charlotte remained devoted to Griffith and eventually facilitated the rescue mission that freed him from prison.
Two years after the Eclipse, Midland was conquered by the Kushans, and Charlotte was taken prisoner by Ganishka, who intended to make her his wife. Even while in captivity, she spent her days embroidering portraits of Griffith, longing for his return. Shortly after the events at Albion, Griffith did indeed return for her, using Zodd to fly her and Anna out of captivity.
Currently, she travels with the new Band of the Hawk, alongside Griffith, to whom she is now betrothed. Following their decisive victory against the Kushans in Vritannis, she declared the Band of the Hawk to be Midland's Regular Army. Sonia referred to her as the "Queen of the Ducks."
