Tyrogue is a humanoid Pokémon featuring a predominantly pale purple body with brown hips and feet that look like short pants and shoes. On its head, it has three blunt protrusions, yellow eyes, and circular sections on each side of its head that resemble protective padding. Tyrogue also sports white bands around its torso and wrists, akin to bandages. Its limbs are thin, and each hand has three fingers. This species is exclusively male, with no female counterpart.
Renowned for its competitive spirit and boundless energy, Tyrogue eagerly challenges anyone, even those larger than itself. This intense desire drives Tyrogue's reputation. Determined to grow stronger, it never gives up, regardless of how many times it loses. Despite its small size, Tyrogue should not be underestimated as it can deliver sudden, powerful strikes. Consequently, it often ends up nursing injuries from battles against bigger opponents. Stressful if unable to train daily, Tyrogue requires its Trainer to maintain a consistent training regimen. It is commonly found in urban environments. The nature of Tyrogue's training influences its evolution into one of three forms: Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop.
