Hanon in the English dub is a member of the Hellions, originating from the Protector clan. He has the ability to absorb individuals into himself, taking control of their bodies and acquiring their abilities, such as Robert's power to create the ideal thing and his sacred treasures.

Despite his humble nature, Hanon struggles to understand humans and often experiments on them out of reckless curiosity. Although it seems that Margarette is his father, it is actually another Hellion who has taken on Margarette's appearance after swallowing him.

Later in the series, Hanon absorbs the King of the Celestial World, who is considered "God," and alters the rules for round 4. Initially, he tells Ueki that his dream is to destroy everything, but his true desire is to find someone capable of defeating him.
