Ai Mori is one of Ueki's classmates at Hinokuni Junior High School. Typically in good spirits, Ai is friendly and upbeat, though she can sometimes come off as shallow. Initially, she views all power-users, except for Ueki, as dangerous enemies not to be trusted. Despite this, Ai genuinely cares for her friends, particularly Ueki. She discovers Ueki’s power early on and initially thinks he might be an alien. Upon learning about the competition Ueki is involved in, she decides to support him to prevent him from losing his talents and disappearing.
At times, Ai can be strict with Ueki, especially when he seems about to act rashly. She tries to be his voice of reason, although her shallow antics and outspoken nature often annoy him.

Later in the series, she receives an ability from Inumaru, a candidate for the King of the Celestial World, during Ueki’s fight with Sano. Her power requires her opponent to strike a goody-two-shoes pose (raising their right leg backwards while putting both fists near their mouth). Once activated, her opponent becomes infatuated with glasses (usually Ai’s) and will do anything to protect them, including following Ai’s orders or even defeating themselves. They won’t attack either, fearing they might break the glasses, and will do anything to stop Ai from breaking them.
The food she cooks tends to look strange and unappealing (often featuring squirming octopus tentacles), but it still tastes good. It appears she may have a crush on Ueki, as she often blushes when she sees him, especially towards the end of the manga series, though this is never explicitly stated.
