Croconaw is a bipedal, crocodilian Pokémon. It features well-developed, rounded jaws with two visible fangs in the corners of its lower jaw even when closed. Its eyes are red, surrounded by black markings. Croconaw has three clusters of red spikes on its body: one with three points atop its head, another with two points between its shoulders, and a diamond-shaped cluster near the tip of its tail. Most of its body is blue, but its lower jaw is yellow, and there's an asymmetrical, yellow-and-blue pattern around its chest resembling a spotted animal skin.
Despite being described as having forty-eight fangs lining its mouth, only six are noticeable. The tips of its teeth slant backward like barbed fish hooks, making them impossible to remove once embedded. Once Croconaw bites down on something, it won't let go until it loses its teeth; any missing teeth will quickly regrow. Croconaw is rarely found near water. As depicted in Pokémon Sleep, Croconaw and its evolutionary relatives sleep with one eye open, engaging in unihemispheric sleep where only half of their brain rests at a time. During sleep, as one half of Croconaw's brain rests, the eye on the same side opens, allowing it to watch for enemy attacks while sleeping.
Evolution
Croconaw evolves from Totodile and evolves into Feraligatr.
