The Japanese setting is there but not enough to warrant being immense in myself to it, I think more research it required, felt very surface level. The story itself is a bit different to your average system concept as the mc defies his fate instead of following the typical route which i find it interesting.decent start but worldbuilding needs to imporve.

Your introduction of Raven is striking; her confident entrance and commanding presence immediately draw the reader in. The elevator scene effectively showcases her power and transformation from victim to avenger, setting a compelling tone for the story. The confrontation with Abe Jenkins is a highlight, with rising tension and visceral moments that keep the reader on edge. The revelation of Jenkins's crimes provides a strong motivation for Raven's revenge, making her actions both understandable and satisfying. While the chapter is impressive, a few minor refinements could enhance the narrative. Consider varying the language to avoid repetition and showing Raven's strong presence through her actions rather than telling. Additionally, integrating Jenkins's information more organically throughout the dialogue would improve the flow. Overall, Chapter 1 is a fantastic start filled with intrigue and excitement. I'm eager to see how Raven's story unfolds!  Readers, if you enjoy strong female leads and a compelling revenge plot, this is definitely one to read

Good book that has a ton of references from the author's past along with the city or country they're probably from. You can tell that they wanted to create a strong bond amongst the characters, despite them being separated for a long time and I think I like that the most about this book. 9.4/10.
