Mixed feelings so far. Volume 1 was utterly fantastic, easily worth a 5 star rating. Adorable romance, great characters, good writing, etc. I literally have no complaints. Feel free to read any of the other reviews on this page; they're all pretty much about V1.V2 however, is the issue. It introduces his younger step-sibling, who's a 'brocon' (if you can be labeled as such while not actually being related). She's.... truly obnoxious. I don't think I've hated a non-villain character this much in years, if not ever. So given how V1 went, I truly don't think the author is going to go the harem route (frankly, no chance imo), so she's here ENTIRELY to drive the romance and be an obstacle. She's pushy, obnoxious, overbearing, and obsessive. Really can't stand her, and for the first time, the MC falters. The entire reason he's been living alone is so he can get away from her basically (he truly wants to be 'family' with his stepfamily), and yet he won't shut her down the way he needs to. The worst part is if the author needed some friction to induce jealousy or complications, there already is a character who's in the story that can fulfil that purpose: the formerly sporty 'sleeping beauty' character that the MC gives daily wake-up calls to.Frankly, if V1 weren't so good, this would be dropped instantly. If the story had started with V2, never would have read it at all. I'll wait until V2 is done (and presumably the situation with his sister) to finish the review, but for now I'll leave it un-rated. 5/5 for V1, -100/5 for V2.
