There has been something that has been frequently occurring lately during my time reading:
I thoroughly enjoy a novel and get immersed into the world. I enjoying the plot, the characters, the interactions, the action, and the pace. But then, there would be one girl that starts following the protagonist. The one becomes two, two becomes three, and three becomes most of the girls that the protagonist meets. These girls all start off with normal interactions, but will all soon begin pursuing the protagonist. The novel falls straight into a harem based one where a lot of focus has been shifted on the "harem members".
Though I myself do not thoroughly enjoy a harem, I know others do. I have become curious in why this is so. Why do many action and fantasy novels with male leads become harem novels? Why do people enjoy the harem novels?
I hope that I could also start enjoying them by hearing about why others do. This way, I can stop having to put down many enjoyable novels because of the 'Harem' tag.
