Your feeling when reading raws (machine translation)

How.....just....how.....
Even though I know both Chinese and English, I can't understand MTLed Chinese or English..... 

When I mtl, if I read some chapters and my brain isn't adjusting I just give up. If I keep going my brain will explode. 

Do you have antidote for brain cramps? 

I can understand Chinese well enough to translate (and I did for a bit *cough*morrighansucks*cough*) so reading raws is the norm for me. My only problem with reading the raws is that 1) I can understand maybe only about 90% unless I'm actually paying attention compared to the 100% for English 2) reading the raws takes longer than reading English since I read the raws via Balabolka text-to-speech so reading a chapter in Chinese takes about 2-3 times longer than reading a chapter in English.

Though the benefit is that I don't have to worry about killing my brain cells in order to read MTL  

I guess it depends on what kind of novel you are reading. The quality of the reading also depends on which platform you are using, for example, I started translating with Google, and then I changed to Baidu.  I have to say that the translations in Baidu actually make more sense than the ones made using Google.

i have read few chinese webnovels. it so happens chinese is hard to handle for MTL ! experience has mixed bag. it will depend on author. some write in a way that MTL does good job while in case of more literally inclined writers its bad. neual nerwork learning based MTL should make a dramatic improvement. hopefully we will have them in hand soon.

I don't read mtl through GT my head hurts reading it........
