At first you think it's fine. The you actually start understanding it, next comes writing and reading stuff in broken English.  The last stage is when your talking to someone and acidentally  say "I is also going library "

And the sad thing is English is my first language

I always feel that too... that's why I can't show to anyone what I read hahaha

That's true. Reading mtl might kill some of your brain cells but once you read it longer, you'll get used to it

*nod nod* I hundred percent agree

Maybe you should go to English school classes to learn English from the beginning again xD

My brain strangely adjusted to the MTL English. I totally get what OP means by understanding alien language lol. I see the gibberish and my mind translates it to the actual meaning. I've read and sampled around 50 novels already.

First reaction: Ahh!! My eyes.

Few hours later: Interesting novel this. Read chapter next now.

Aka my brain gets fried and I start speaking MTL English.

You know, I tried doing that once before.

After my experience, my personal take is, whoever reads MTL should seek psychiatric treatment.

Something like this.
