Why do you keep repeating yourself, if you don't bother replying to the counter points...

Ah, so Obito also wanted to become Hokage. Well I'm not surprised.

This chapter wasn't the first time he mentioned wanting to become Hokage... >___>

Anyway, that bit with Rin...

"I've been waiting for you. You got lost along the way, didn't you?" *cue heartbreak*

Nice thread. It seems Naruto was just fast, and Sasuke didn't use his ability on him.

I felt bad for Obitio even though he did a lot of bad things (this doesn't redeem the things he did at all) but I kinda wish he stayed a villian until the end (but can't expect that in Naruto) and died earlier. He started to be a plot device at one point. WTF Naruto? Praising him? There should be a limit to your forgiveness. Why didn't you guys grab his eye for Kakashi? Kakashi is useless now v.v.

I have read the raw and if I have more time I will make a full translation of that scan for you. However, so far as I know Naruto called Obito really a great guy.

In this context, it isn't relevant if he called him coolest/greatest and so on in my opinion, because it's not reasonable to reduce Obitos characters to just one characteristic. But that's not what people are complaining about. People are complaining because they think that Naruto is just sweeping what Obito did under the rug and forgetting about it. The way I perceive it is that Naruto thought Obito [/b] WAS [/b] ("was" is referring to him when he's young, not before he died) awesome when he was younger because he wanted to become Hokage, and now Naruto is angry because BZ and Madara twisted him into being evil.

If we're talking about him as a kid, then I (and pretty much everyone else) think Obito was awesome as well. Kid Obito didn't commit any crimes, and he wanted to become Hokage, so he was awesome. Adult Obito DID commit crimes, so he wasn't awesome. I don't sweep what he did under the rug, and Naruto doesn't either.

Why didn't Naruto cry when Nagato died, who did far less damage to Naruto's life and truly wanted peace? Several chapters ago Naruto said that he can't forgive Obito and that his path was selfish. Yet shortly later he calls him the coolest guy?

There is an important difference between Nagato and Obito. Nagato and Naruto may be from Uzumaki lineage and had the same sensei, but Naruto and Obitos character is very similar. Due to it, Naruto could sympathize with Obito more than with Nagato.

However, those tears are misplaced anyway, but never mind.

In the raw Narutos final statement regarding Obito is even more fucked up, if I remember correctly.

Again for the umpth time, Naruto was describing current Obito, and the person Kid Obito could have become, the word Hokage was there for a reason, and later we see Obito as a Kid for a reason, because he became his old self again, and can face Rin that way. Naruto saw his past, and he thinks Kid Obito and what he could have become are awesome. And I'm sure you read more detailed answered than this in NB...

Of course Naruto doesn't refer to Obito who killed Neji or the Uchiha. However, Narutos statement is naive and ignorant after all, however, that's what he's supposed to be. Therefore, it's understandable that a few readers are surprised because of it.

Naruto didn't refer to what Obito may have become either. The words he used don't fit to a theoretical case, but the present state.

As you said it, Obito became his old, former self again. Naruto is similar, that's why he felt connected to him.

But in the end it's meaningless, because Narutos statement doesn't fit the whole character of Obito Uchiha. To reduce Obito to a few 'nice characteristics' which he had as a child and at the end of his life isn't really reasonable though.

Man these Naruto chapters are fucking garbage why would you feel bad for Obito hes a fucking ass hole.  I feel like black zetsu is echoing my thoughts this chapter.  Obito was useless, stupid, and a giant dickhead.  Not only did he kill Neji (chapter 614 hes killing hella people), he also killed a bunch of people in the leaf village when he was trying to get the kyuubi, and he killed Naruto's parents.  The whole payoff for keeping Obito around was such a waste.  You have someone who was suppose to be the main villain, show him doing evil ass shit almost kill him off but instead of just giving him a normal death making him look like a complete idiot (because he is one) they try and make you feel bad for him.   Seriously anyone who feels bad for him at this point must have the memory of a fish.
