Avalokitesvara can be translated as "s/he who looks down at the world." Guanyin translates to "perceiving the sounds (cries) of the world" and is also considered the Goddess of Mercy.



Urahara's shikai is blood related, so maybe in exchange for his blood he gets to become all seeing or knowing just like yhwach, temporarily immortal,  able to cut all things.
