Seriously, all of this crap since they entered the remodeled Soul King's Palace has been about as entertaining as 18 holes of the PGA Senior's Blind Golfer Championship. It's so drawn out and stretched that I just can't bring myself to care anymore, I'm beginning to question if seeing how it all ends is actually worth this much trolling.
Hell, the only question I have at this point is what happened to Kenny's little pink haired lieutenant when she disappeared like twenty years back when the story was still slightly interesting. Let me guess, she was the Soul King's left nipple?

Quincies in their main essence are "weaker" beings countering stronger beings with special abilities. Thats how they fought Hollows, thats how they fight shinigami too.
Ichigo never got to fight. He simply went unconscious the moment he stepped into the trap. IF anything it shows that brute power is not enough to win things in this war, as well as showing that Viking guy most likely won't be defeated by a fight but by exploiting a weakness.

Well technically Askin DID exactly that. He explained it AFTER he defeated his opponents. Yuruichi simply overheard it.

Power ups mean nothing against Quincies. Quincies have always fought in a kind of "rock/paper/scissors" way by using specific powers to exploit weaknesses. After all it is a race that did not start as superhumans.
