a) How did he get a flesh and blood body? Is that a gigai or what? Benefit of the doubt, it's a reiatsu-concealing gigai.

It's not a plot hole if there's possibilities available. It's a plot hole when something doesn't make sense no matter how you see it.

It might have been a gigai, it might have been his real body to begin with, etc.

The author doesn't have to specify this kind of information if he introduced possible way of it being done.

b) How did he get a degree to practice medicine?

By going to school?

If you ask about how he entered school then it's a stupid question since there's just so many way he could have done that that it's not even worth worrying about.

c) How does no one find it suspicious that he doesn't seem to have any family on Earth? ("Daddy, do you have a daddy? Tell me about grandpa!" "Uhhhhh...")

Stupid question since Isshin is number 1 excuse bullshit-er. There again there's about infinite number of way for it not to be an issue.

d) Why doesn't anybody seem to care that Isshin is just bumming around doing nothing when there are souls to be saved? Why doesn't Isshin care?

There's people stealing and killing each other everyday, what are you doing not going to join the police? You don't care about it?

Imo

Isshin seem to be 'between Urahara and Aizen' on an ideology level.

Urahara accept the way the world work while Aizen utterly rejected it.

Aizen want to change how the world work no matter what the outcome is, he consider 'now' to be something unacceptable.

I like to see Isshin in the middle of those two.

While he dislike how the world is working he has no choice but to go along it because he cannot imagine a way that would be better.

He was rejected by Soul society because he likely did something he considered morally correct but was against the rule of SS (Which bring shame to the Shiba name) and the woman he love died. He surely harbor some dislike about the way things work to some extent.

e) Why did Isshin see fit to keep all three of his children in the dark about both of their extraordinary heritages, especially after Hollows began showing up? Why not train them so they can defend themselves if you want to sit on your ass all day?

Because you'd like to see Bleach's human society as something similar to us.

Hollows kill human and Shinigami slay Hollows but the chance of dying because of a Hollow in your entire life is extremely low.

Ichigo have been able to see souls since he was little and the first hollow he encountered for years was one sent specifically to him by Aizen. it's also not unlikely that his mother was specifically targeted as well.

Had the Kurosaki household continued to have a 'normal' life (Not being targeted by Aizen which escalated to him meeting Rukia and being where he is now) it's extremely likely they never would have never been near an Hollow.

There were some very convenient case (Bleach is a manga after all) but that's pretty much the way the world is supposed to work.

Giving that, there was no reason to put them through a life of battle for something like this

Also Isshin isn't doing nothing. He's working full time to earn a salary to make his family live. He want to have fun with his children on his spare time. When you'll work 50-60+h/week you'll understand how full his schedule actually was.

f) Why wasn't Masaki able to fend off a fairly weak Hollow? Was it because she didn't want to exterminate a soul anymore?

This might be a possibility but it's much more likely that she lost her power the same way Ishida did before.

Nidhoeggr said:

g) What did SS think whenever Aizen, Gin and Tousen went absent like that? Did they really not have any handle on what was going on in HM at all?

Captain can do whatever they want as long as they're doing their duties and respect the rules.

With Aizen's zan it isn't hard to fake information so that it look like they are doing normal stuff while they are experimenting.

We don't have to see them every second of their life handling millions of different case for the author to prove that they can fool the system. It already happened, many time.

Not to mention that apprently nobody remembers Isshin, which is strange especially for Rangiku.

I hate Kubo for his lazy storytelling.

Nobody "remember" Isshin because Ichigo never mentioned him and they never met again.

Isshin's real name is Shiba, not Kurosaki. They will not react to Kurosaki because it's a fake name Isshin took latter on.

Isshin and Rangiku never met again, not even in fake karakura town.

In short..Ichigo will be the one to get his power without asauchi?

I think this will be the case. -_______-

Oh not disu shitto agen.

Really? Trying to force a completely uninteresting, comic relief character into the middle of it all...

Damn you Kubo

Isshin is a Shiba, and Ichigo looked so much like the other Shiba dude, so that must mean that Ichigo and Isshin must be blood related son and father. If Juha is Ichigo's dad then Imma flip.

Young Toshirou is just so cuteeeeeeeeeee!!! <3 He ate Isshin's manjuu lulz. And young Rangiku with that huge rack <3
