EVERYONE including Aizen of all people avoided her or any sort of direct confrontations with her.

Arrancar masked fodder soldiers RAN AWAY from her after she identified herself.

Yamaji specifically kept her out of VR fight.



So its more than likely she was always like that, just restraining herself.



Yamaji dying I guess was the breaking point.



I have to agree with grandy_UiD.  While you make decent points Fai, I personally viewed most of those instances of her being held back because of her role as a medic than anything else.  We all know that medics in the battlefield are supposed to be held back to tend to the injured.  Not enter the battlefield themselves and risk the possibility of injury.  Because if that happened, they wouldn't be able to help their comrades.



Her role as a medic does not explain why Aizen of all people would avoid confronting her, while he gladly trolled Hitsugaya, nor why Arrancar ran away from her.



The fact that she is medic ALONE would have been incentive big enough to face her, yet...



And yes, she WANTS to be a medic, to redeem herself, but it takes so little to go over the edge. She seems like female version of Kenshin, frankly.

So as long as it's a work of fiction, anything goes. Makes perfect sence.



im just saying fiction does not have to be strictly realistic and its no big deal its just artistic expression too of how badass Unohana is

I am calm, just used more concrete examples from dbz, nothing to be hyped about.

Just finished reading this and this i think is not right.. i mean like Zaraki and all but when his survival means killing off someone else who is probably more interesting, and needs more character development than he does then i throw in the towel... i mean she has been the only Captain not to fight in 523 chapters and then they possibly kill her off in one fight... So can we expect the same with the remainder of the Captain level SR's who have yet to cut lose; Shunsui, Jushiro, Isshin, Yourichi, & Kisuke? Sorry guys i'm just a little bitter about this Chapter.... that and i still don't understand what in the hell Unohana's Bankai was suppose to be doing either...

I don't understand why one of them has to die. It's doubtful that one of them actually will die (though if one does, it will be Unohana), but why did Shunsui say someone would definately die like it's an obvious conclusion?



Anyway, I'm glad Unohana got rid of that plait beard. It looked ridiculous. Now she can focus on scaring the crap out of people.



On another note, Kubo wastes SOOO many panels. If he had a half decent editor, half of Bleach's problems would not exist.
