Yamamoto dying was brutally epic. I had visions of Hellsing Ultimate, with all the nazi vampires in London, when all the Quincy soldiers appeared in Soul Society like that.

I'm worried about the anime too, though I think they'd give it a more appropriate slot because the arc from the beginning till now is bloody and the anime would be a failure if they censored.

well this is how I interpreted it.



The guy in the pic was Yama in bankai but he was facing something so the monster in question would of been the guy he was facing towards which was Bach.



Also it didn't make sense that he would say "then...I won't be coming back" cause just going bankai wasn't going to kill him even if he had a much lower stamina than he did when he was younger.



If himself was that monster then he would of simply told shunsui it's a painting of him in his bankai mode but he said it was a monster hinting of somebody else, that came when ss was a mess...so Bach prob entered the battlefield in the middle of the war when ss was the mess Yama was talking about.



Also it just hit me on why fake Juha said Kenpachi was a war potential since re-saw the kubo interview where he said Kenpachi will finally learn the name of his swords and achieve bankai

I hope they make the anime into OVA's :DI don't know, something seems wrong here. The first 2 pages seems more "that guy is a guy who came and made things worse than they already were" , Yama is talking about himself/his Bankai in the 3rd person PoV but changed it to the 1st when the panel of him being cut in the present appeared, and if you remember Bach said to Yama "Gotei 13 was more of a bunch of murderous thugs" which means Yama came to SS and made things worse than they already were by making Gotei 13 --> Yama feels regret for something that happened at that time. The last line is what makes it not that clear, in both versions they have the same meaning, it seems if he/his Bankai appeared again it'll be the last time he uses Bankai/die in other words, question is just like you said, how did he know he's gonna die when he uses Bankai again?



I don't remember Kubo saying Kenpachi will get bankai btw, where did you read that?

The Ichigo who manhandled monster Aizen would obviously wreck Yamamoto, but this version of Ichigo is significantly weaker than Yamamoto at the moment. So I'm talking about current Ichigo, obviously.



Nevermind Yamamoto, even characters like Urahara/Isshin etc are probably stronger (until Ichigo gets a random power-up that is)

ok so there are some "new" characters that seem... similar (to ukitake, riruka, shunsui/zaraki etc)?
