Anyway yeah Unohana makes perfect sense also for the explosion. Her losing her shit and raging would be awesome. Her being part of the original 13 captains, the bloodthirsty bunch they apparently were, would explain why everyone is so scared. Kyoraku and Ukitake did say they'd rather be destroyed by Yama's Bankai than make Unohana angry!
It would fit the hints Kubo kept throwing in the final arc previews saying that Unohana has yet to show her real powers.
not to mention Unohana's stats in databooks make her pretty much nearly as strong as Yamamoto, with pretty much every stat maxed.

Unohana has 100 at Offense, Kido and Intelligence. 90 on Physical Strength and 70 on speed, which actually makes her physically stronger than yamamoto and almost as fast as Byakuya.
By the totals of her masteries, the only two people stronger than her are Aizen and Yamaji.
The person with long hair in that flashback in the left side of the shinigami lineup is most likely Unohana.

Do people even pay attention to overall mysteries? The amount of people going "who is zero squad" is seriously not amusing me.

Well this chapter was a slight improvement but that's because the last chapter was the new worst chapter of Bleach ever. I mean really the image of Yamamoto defeated with his head cut off was good but then Kubo fucking ruined it by having Bach blow up to body just to prove he was EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL and cruel or whatever. Kubo is a little boy with no restraint.
Except that you are complaining for the sake of complaining:
1) What Bach did fit his character and his hatred and disrespect toward yamamoto
2) Bach was fearing that Orihime would just "remake" Yamamoto as if nothing so he had to make sure there's nothing to remake from.

And it rather be Unohana at the end. Because when Shunsui was shown in despair in the middle of the chapter, the thought crossed my mind, comparing him to Unohana calmly drinking her tea somewhere.
Nah, she'll still be drinking tea nonchalantly because, as it will turn out, she's the main villain of the series!
