You undestand what you want to understand,
No. I understand stuff that is written in english. English that was not.
Seriously, without reading things that aren't there (looking at you, Fai) or factoring outside explanations at conventions or w/e, what real use did the Xcution have?
1. Foreshadowing King's power level.
2.. Explaining Chad's power nature.
3. Possibly introducing a new ally faction for Ichigo representing real world(Ss representing SS and Nel/Grim/etc representing HM).
4. Showcasing Ichigo's nature and why he longs for powers and rushes into battles/rescuing.
5. emphasizing and re-establishing the bond of core cast.
6. Re-emphasizing SS gray-morality nature.
7. Re-emphasizing where SS stands(by ichigo's side) as possible set up for upcoming war against soul king.
8. Possibly adding more set ups for future arcs (Tsukishima possibly eventually allying with Ichigo, Yukio's group helping Ichigo along the way maybe, etc)
9. Introduced Riruka.
They brought a new power, supposedly one which makes the "Hollow/Shinigami" power parallel a "Hollow/Shinigami/Fber" Triangle. This is all well and good, until you realise that everyone who was supposed to have this power is either dead or no longer uses it (barring Chad and Orihime, which I will comment on later)
How does that even make sense?
Fb is not "just a power" its an insight into what person connected to souls of objects can do. Who else is connected to everything? Soul King.
Also methinks you are forgetting Ginjou's comment on there being another fullbringer with FB similar to Ichigo's. Oh and how about the fact that just because this group might be done(there's no indication they could NOT regain their powers by forming new bonds with objects, etc), that there are no more of ones like them. There are gazillions of hollows on earth every day. The way FBs are "Created" they are not limited to this group.
Xcution's moral standing is also complete bull. Hell, that is a plot point! Every single character had their own motives. The PSP kid proved it when he turned to Dirty Boots gal and said "You were the only one with that belief anyway." What belief? The belief that FB was a curse. The initial reason why ichigo was introduced to Xcution (remember? He was supposed to absorb their powers?) Riruka, and her fucked up belief not only dont make any sense, but arent shared by anyone else. Ginjo is doing this because he straight up hates SS foe giving him a GPS, and Tsukishima is doing this because it turns out he is Ginjo's bitch.
And? Apart from shortly summing up Xcution motivation what did you achieve with this non-paragraph.
So, the moral/ethycal fights we were waiting to see just didnt happen. Only a blind fool would claim they did.
Any proof for that apart from falacious argument against the opposing side that means nothing in the debate?
This arc was all about gray morality. You apparantly wanted it to be black and white.
What else happened of relevance this arc? Ichigo got his powers.
Did we need another enemy organization just for that? Couldn't Ichigo see the appearence of a Menos Grande, be incapable to stop it, go through an emo period where he'd admit the true reason he wants his powers is not to protect his friends but because he straight up LIKES his power, and go to Urahara/SS/his friends and get his powers that way?
refer to my list.
Also what you suggested, yes it would be worse.
As it is, Ichigo is still a Gary Stu who wants power to protect his friends, despite his rather short admittance of selfishness.
The very fact Ichigo has FLAWS acknowledged by the story and the very nature of this arc denies Ichigo's status as Gary Stu. Want to see a gary stu in manga? Uzumaki Naruto.
The other plot point is the possibility of SS being up to something. This one I'll explain in a rather short text: Ishida was already onto them, and everything Ginjo "revealed" Ishida already knew.
Except we don't know what Ginjou wanted to reveal because he was interrupted. Just like with Aizen. Its most likely a build up to reveal.
Now, a little question to you guys: Are orihime's and Chad's powers REAL Fullbrings? Their powers were first justified as being the result of Ichigo's influence, and then retconned to being the Hougyokou's powers. Now it just so happens that they are fullbrings, despite the fact that Chad said his powers are close to that of a Hollow's. They also don't fit the theme: Orihime's attacks are Japanese (relating to Shinigami), Chad's attacks are in Spanish (relating to the hollow) and the other FBers use english in their attacks.
This proves you have no reading comprehension at all.
There was no retcon.
Ichigo's pressure caused spiritual awakenings in his friends.
It also affected Hogyoku.
Hogyoku(since it can't make something out of nothing) brought up the potentials inside of those characters and made them 100% chance to happen.
And yes his powers would feel hollow-like because duh FB is hollow-influenced ability.
Inoue was never confirmed as fullbringer.
Chad's attacks are spanish not because of hollow stuff. ITs because of his heritage. Orihime has no relation to Shinigami in her powers. Her powers are more like tha tof vaizards according to vaizards. There's no confirmation of her being a fullbringer yet. If anything her powers are more akin to Hogyoku itself.
Wasn't it established that the name of a technique or transformations goes a LONG way in establishing its power? I hardly doubt Orihime or Chad are calling out their powers in the wrong language without any drawbacks.
That only applies to shinigami swords. Again: reading comprehension. :)

Kind of disappointed in this chapter. I thought we were going to get more insight about Ginjo and thought the last panel in chapter 477 was heading towards a flash back. Not mad that it didn't go as I assumed it would but was just hoping something big and exciting would have happened for the end of the year chapter. It was nice finding out what happened to the other fullbringers and I'm happy Riruka's alive.
The lack of Ichigo's pov in this chapter makes me think we don't know something and Ginjou is alive even more.

Just droppingin to say that the pace issues has been known since a long time and is justified imo.
The main problem is that we are reading one chapter per week. Kubo is more suited to write manga in volume form rather than in chapter form and because of the 1 week wait, the effect is emphasied.
If we had all the chapter out i'm pretty much sure that this pacing issues wouldn't bother 99% of the people actually bothered by it.
I'm gonna mention popular titles like OP, Naruto, Bakuman, Beelzebub etc all had 10x pacing in a chapter than Kubo... Do they drop in quality? Nope! Kubo just draws every little pointless scene, he's just stretching the manga out, when it's not needed... He's just killing it...
LOL. You mean the manga that had 300 chapter "War" arc which consisted of one overpowered character reviving dozens of dead fodder again and again, main people defeating them with LOVE and then NEXT CHALLENGER being resurrected?
Remind me not to take you seriously form now on, will you? ;]

Nothing? This brought us A LOT of backstory to SS, shed more light into the whole gray morality of soul society, (if ginjou is dead) WAS FIRST TIME ICHIGO HAD TO WILLINGLY KILL A PERSON or (if ginjou did not die) set up a huge story arc.
It also hinted that something with SS is really wrong, showed that SS is shifting towards more liberal society instead of conservative values of the old, possibly setting up the Soul king versus SS conflict.
The *only* thing this arc did was give Ichigo his powers back and give a small bit of insight into Soul Society. The way it was brought about was both obvious and hackneyed. There was no reason for the Fullbrings to be as powerful as they were, considering that the power they got from Ichigo was apparently a fraction of a fraction of his power.
Any arguments to back up your "only reason" statement?
And no reason? I am sorry? They manipulate reality. All Ichigo's power gave them is ability to do that on wider scale(due to Ichigo's power nature) It also makes sense as build up for the powers Soul King would have (who is, hey, connected to EVERYTHING).

This would imply that every weekly manga has to suffer from slow as hell pacing, just because it's weekly. .
Nope. it just implies that Kubo's story-board storytelling style fits monthly manga more than weekly :)
