I finished the anime like three days ago, then I started to read the manga...the last match of the serie is simply the best. The whole team was at his peak (specially Mitsui and Sakuragi).

Every 5 chapters I was thinking "Oh God, Shohoku will actually win", then "nope, looks like the champions are way too powerful"...but in the end, the team somehow manages to defeat Sannoh...by one point of difference! I was literally crying when everyone was celebrating...what a match, so epic.

9/10, it's a shame that so many characters didn't get the attention I was expecting. But overall, Slam Dunk is pretty damn good.

Ooh tears were shed. Mantears.

Grats to Shohoku on that win. They deserved it after all that hard work! Ah good series overall. I had some initial problems with the series at first but it turned out to be a pretty fun ride including the last match. 7/10.

beautiful manga .. Inoue is 2/2 with this and Vagabond .. truly the GOAT storyteller

---

Nice to see Saku can continue after rehab! I knew there couldn't be any tragic endings (thankfully)

Rukawa and Saku hanging out on the beach .. lowkey thought it was America at first

I wonder if the author will ever continue this manga .... he was introducing a bunch of new players and new teams at the end ...

glad it got an ending even if it was a tad rushed

I completed the tv series a few years ago. The anime was great; I really enjoyed it!

Last week I decided to continue the series from the manga. (So I started reading from chapter 185 to 276)

It was an amazing experience! The art was incredible and that last match was sooo exciting !. I had a blast reading it.

I really wish there were more chapters:( but mangaka wanted to leave the rest of the story to our imagination I think.

I want to check out the Slam Dunk: 10 Days After if ı can find it...

Next year he would be number 1/2 in Nation :) I guess that's why wouldn't make sense to continue, there wouldn't be much to show. Shohoku would crush anyone or at least Hanamichi would.

I wonder why inoue didn’t continue the series longer to cover all 3 years of hanmachi would have been great to seen him grow even more as a player and eventually see the school win

Would have been nice to see the closure of the tournament though or at least who won etc

From his interview, he said that when he started slam dunk he already plan to end it after sannoh game. His original plan is for them to lost in sannoh, but the editorial department of jump didn't agree with him which cause some tension.

Interhigh winner is Daiei Gakuen (osaka). This school is based on a real life school that won the interhigh.

that ending was pretty fucking bad to be honest.

It feels like a quickly cobbled together ending to a cancelled manga, yet considering Slam Dunks ridiculous popularity i highly doubt it was cancelled.

Shohokus remaining performance in the tournament is quickly handwaved aside in a single sentence. They lost to a nameless team for a dumb reason. (they were tired? really?)

Couldn't they have at least lost to Kainan?

This also seems to imply the team can't win without Sakuragi which completely undermines Kogure and makes Sakuragi look like a bit of a Mary Sue.

We are not even allowed find out who won the tournament.

Sakuragi x Haruko is never resolved.

Neither is Miyagi x Ayako.

Akagi doesn't get his college scholarship for litellary no fucking reason at all.

Hiroshi Morishige was apparently completely forgotten and all the build-up to him was an absolutely useless waste of time.

6/10, would have been a 7 with a better ending.

It's all perfection, the pace, the panels, the draw, the expression, the ending. A complete manga put me back into my high school days. Takehiko Inoue the GOAT.
