Fairy Tail Chapter 545 Discussion

Hmm. I just figured out what would have made this chapter a lot better..

Letting Lucy confess.

I honestly didn't expect Natsu to say something - because he hasn't matured since chapter one, he only got stronger. But them not getting together is pretty disappointing. Lucy keeps getting put into the friendzone by Natsu's stupidity.

If she had just straight up said "I love you, please go out with me!" and then while Natsu was standing there dumbstruck, taken his arm and said "Let's go on this mission!" that would have been great.



It would have shown us that at least she has grown as a person. The ship would have sailed, too. For the final time we would have been reminded that she was at one point the protagonist.

An unexpected twist of the "damsel in distress getting dragged along by her knight in shining armor"-formula - making her take the initiative to evoke the illusion that she might have been a strong female lead, somewhere deep within.

Not at all. It would have made total sense for Natsu and Lucy since it was hinting at it from the very beginning. People were mad about those in Naruto and Bleach because those were built up and then the author's showed off how terrible writers they are by ending with the wrong couples.



Nah Natsu and Lucy was always platonic. Natsu is definitely asexual and Lucy is the innocent girl, she might've had a crush on him, but nothing more.No, Natsu was just super dense. There was clear romantic feelings between them.



No there wasn't, again maybe from Lucy, but not from Natsu.

On another note, I'm glad Jerza didn't get their happy ending.



Two toxic characters in Jellal and Erza deserve to be stripped far away from each other.



Would've been fitting if both died.

No matter how many asspulls have occured or how many stupidity is shown. We will still like Fairy tail. That is the point of a shonen, to have fun while reading. I think that was achieved quite well.

Besides that, it was actually a nice final chapter, but I don't think I'm gonna miss this series at all.

I'll look forward to Mashima next work cause I know that, if he wants, he can write amazing stories and Rave Master is the proof of that. C'mon Mashima, give us something serious next time '



Possibly they're ghosts, possibly reincarnation, idk Mashima just wanted to give them a happy ending somehow.

like the others, MEH in overall, where you got only OP NAKAMA PAWA in finale, both OHKO for Acno and Zeref onii-chan but still, it just good to see this manga finally end.



At least no plot twist, normal ship. 1 thing that missed is f*cking キッス

It was a very appropriate ending for Fairy Tail, regardless of the questionable quality of the last few arcs. Forever going to be salty about how he failed Irene's & Kyouka's characters. So much potential, so much failure. FT has never been about ships or romance. I fully expected a time skip with marriage and babies, as per shounen formula. And I'm glad it steered away from it.






^ This is what Fairy Tail has always been about. Friendship and adventuring.

I appreciate shounen manga ending with fanservice, but it isn't necessary all the time. And in this case, this was an acceptable ending.



Pairings were confirmed in a not-in-your-face-over-the-top manner. A never ending adventure fits the series. Whether he does a generations or not, the set-up is there and it's entirely up to him.



I'd rather not see a Boruto-esque Generations though, and I'm perfectly content at having the franchise end here.



This series was always a fun pick-me-up, feel good adventure for me. It was never meant to be anything inherently deep. As such, I appreciate and enjoy it for what it was, flaws and all.

Lovely final colour page of everyone in the Guild. Oh Lucy when there is a party Fairy Tail is always going to go crazy no matter what.



Nice to see all the guilds doing well.

So many couples. Gajeel & Levy possibly having a baby. Mavis & Zeref reincarnated or something.



Nice Natsu, Lucy & Happy moment. The adventure continues.



Thank you Hiro Mashima for all the hard work these past 11 years. I started reading Fairy Tail around the Edolas Arc & it's been fun.

I've always enjoyed the friendship between the characters & the art is great.



Gotta give him props for bringing out double chapters in a week sometimes. That takes time & dedication. His work ethic is great.



Gonna miss this manga. FAREWELL FAIRY TAIL!!!!!
