Good fucking riddance to a manga that went from 7/10 to literally 1/10 all in two arcs.

We literally got no closure, Lucy's character got COMPLETELY shafted in the last two arcs, Erza became even BIGGER mary sue, nothing important got explained, lots of bullshit happened, power levels outright flew out of the window completely. Oh and majority of plot set up led nowhere - 777 significance? who the fuck knows? Aquarius? Who the fuck knows! Gods? Who the fuck knows! Lucy getting character development? Who the fuck knows! All of the story set up that never came to fruition? WHO THE FUCK KNOWS! OH AND NOBODY FUCKING DIED. Oh and romance went nowhere. LITERALLY nowhere. When worthless trash like Nardo ends up having more conclusive romance than your work you know you dun goofed.

In a single final arc Mashima managed to SHIT on literally everything good he did in the rest of the manga. Even anime filler story arcs were better thought out than this shit. Its such a fucking stark contrast with his work on RAVE that it is hard to believe it is written by same person.

Now hopefully Mashima spends time actually planning out his next work so it is closer to RAVE quality or at least FT's Tartaros level of quality of stuff instead of this....whatever this was.

Final Rating:

I am sad for the braincells that died  from having to finish reading this arc/10.

I started watching the anime in 2011. I definitely loved it! Then I started reading the manga about 2 years ago. And now it ends..

I always thought it was going to be as great as One Piece, or Bleach, or at least like Naruto. It had potential. Then I realized in this last arc, that it was crap.

I wish Hiro had asked for help when he got bored of his manga. The writing is simply terrible, and most of the times it doesn't make any sense. What we got in this last chapter were nothing, but couples. I don't care about couples. I'm glad at least some people can find a little good in this last arc, but I can't.

I definitely won't miss the manga, I'm glad it's finally over. I will still watch the anime next year, hoping it'll be over fast. Also I'm looking forward to the Dragon Cry movie. Hopefully it's good. Sadly, I have to wait until it gets released online.

Hiro should focus on hentai, he'd be definitely good at it. He's too bad at writing.

At first it was 8-9/10 for me. Then in this last arc it got worse and worse by each chapter, with all those nakama powerups, even with all bones broken in Erza's body. Then random suicides, etc.

It's 2/10 for me now.

By the way, why is the MAL score still 8,05?? Why doesn't it go below at least 6 yet? How does it work?

Basically a chapter to show which ships are canon to end all wars.

This arc was by far the worst, though the rest of the series wasn't horrible. 3/10 overall, I loved it at the start.

after reading the scanlations of YonkouProd welp that is better than i thought ye its not the typical shounen ending of having time skips and children but its stays true to the theme of the power of friendship

but lol a 100 year quest to search if there are Fairies or not eh

Well all I read FT mostly for at a certain point was just for the art and the fanservice... so the ending was as shit as expected giving how bad the writing in it was. Somehow got worse after the 7 year timeskip cuz after that the arcs just went more and more downhill when atleast previous to that it had a few tolerable/decent ones.

Still curious though what his next project is gonna be about ngl, with how rushed the final arc felt like it seems like he was in a hurry just to end FT and start whatever he got cooked up and given how hard he works it's probably not even a too long wait too.

Seeing the random Zeref and Mavis look a like/ghost was so random and unnecessary.

Most ships never set sailed but at least best ship Gajeel x Levy did. Natsu essentially friend zoned himself LOL

Despite how bad the final arc was I'm sad to see this series end. Didn't Gajeel at one point torture Levy?

It makes for a great how I met your mother story.

I really liked this final chapter, seeing that party, Lucy's dream come true, some couples confirmed and some not so much, an end where the essence of the fairy tail remains intact, that joy that characterizes the guild, all cheerful, noisy .

Seeing Mavis along with Zeref, like two innocent souls, filled me with joy.

I'm glad that everything ends this way

And so 545 chapters and 11 years later, Fairy Tail has come to an end.

I'll be honest, I've been mostly neutral towards this series since the GMG arc.  I honestly can't recall any other series that made me go from liking it a lot to basically having a hard time caring about anything outside of a few characters so quickly like Fairy Tail did.

All of the stuff post GMG that people got pissed off about?  Yeah, it didn't affect me in the least.  I pretty much just shrugged it off as I knew Hiro wasn't going to change anything about the way he was writing things.  I thought Tartaros had its moments, but even then I wouldn't put it with the best of the best from earlier arcs of the series.

Apart from some of the BS in the Tenrou Island arc, I will still always have fond memories of just about everything pre time skip.  A lot of the stuff there was Hiro at his best, and I'm at least glad we'll always have that part of the story to go back and watch/read.  I initially started with the anime, so if I ever revisit that material I'll probably watch it again over reading it.

Whatever Hiro's next work is, I hope it's as good as early FT or Rave.  I've never personally read Rave but I've heard enough about it from plenty of people to know that it's a good series.  I'll definitely give it a read eventually.

This last chapter did bring back some memories for me, and for that reason alone I pretty much enjoyed it more than most of anything else I've experienced from this series in a good while.  Plus seeing that Gajeel and Levy are seemingly going to have a kid made me happy.  They were the only couple I actually cared about in this series.  I used to care about Natsu and Lissana, but we all know how that ended up.

Last thing I'll say is that I think Fairy Tail Zero is probably the best thing Hiro has written since the time skip.  I actually enjoyed watching that a good bit when I saw it in the anime.

Thanks for the memories Fairy Tail.  Despite how I may feel now, I'll never forget a lot of the earlier parts of the story.
