That´s their decision to make. From what I´ve seen, this actually is pretty much what Fairy Tail always about. The only problem I have is that  it´s undeserved.

Natsu and the crew did nothing to earn that feast. Many of the characters present didn´t do enough to earn their faces on those panels. Fairy Tails biggest problem. Too many characters. No focus on any of them power of friendship.

It´s a bad Fairy Tail chapter, but if those people liked Fairy Tail untill now than they like those things.

but lol a 100 year quest to search if there are Fairies or not ehI don't think you understand how much of a betrayal this is though. Mashima didn't deliver even on the shonen side. The villains were lazily defeated. Both the spriggans and the overarching villains Zeref and Acnologia.



Now he doesn't even deliver on wrapping any loose threads. There are so goddamn many. I can think of a billion off the top of my head lol
