I must admit that this final arc was lackluster in terms of proper story telling but it definitely did not lack any drama or action. The power of friendship is this series' bread and butter since Day One so expecting something different is practically telling the author to change his views. Like Fairy Tail, Hiro stuck with his ideals which I applaud him for that even if it doesn't make exceptional stories. It really can make exceptional stories though. Take HxH for example. The bromance between Gon and Killua runs deep. Even the avenger Kurapika put his revenge scheme on hold for the sake of his friends. Leorio is a goddamn sweetheart. The four of them would fight to the death for each other. Most importantly, Togashi knows not to rely on that.

I'm not saying you can't like Fairy Tail. I liked it once too. Tartaros was good, as was the early arcs. GMG was meh though, thanks to Sting. It's just that Mashima really doesn't know how to write. He can draw though. Pretty damn well.

Ankseram seems to be just contradictory curse and it was use good by Mavis to defeat Zeref so nothing more to it

as for the rest all that seems to me you are expecting more other than just accepting what the story gives, im sure you will hate Bleach manga more then since a lot of Bankai for example was not shown and fans are forgetting the business side of things too like Bleach manga declining sales so it was end prematurely, so you got to ask is Fairy Tail manga still has increasing sales? its not only the mangaka that is at fault But it could have been soooooo good though. That's why it sucks. All these things I'm throwing out could have made for awesome stories.

You're right in that the hype train for this series ran harder than Mashima was willing to put out.

Well I guess it's the end...

6/10. It's a wacky ride, that's for sure.

So .... that's it I guess? Fairy Tail started out pretty fresh and quickly picked my interest for quite some time. But unfortunately the more it went on, the more it's writing deteriorated. It would've been just fine to get adventures with the original 4 (Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray). The last arc was especially disappointing, giving the series a new low. It was not only bad writing, but also pretty boring, relying on any chance to add fan service where possible. Overall, as someone who used to be fan in the early days, I have to say this series turned out pretty badly. Have to give credit to Mashima for ending it.

Overall, a 3-4/10 would suffice.

well, I don't like gray now, I found his confession creepy and extremely sexist

Official translations that you clearly didn't read.

Gray: “What are you even thinking?”

Juvia: “Juvia is sorry!”

Gray: “It left a scar huh”?

Juvia: “I don’t mind”

Gray: “Why don’t you ask Wendy, she could probably fix it”

Juvia: “and yours as well, Gray-sama”

Gray: “Guys and girls are different!” “Your body is…”

Juvia: “My body is..?”

Gray: “something I care about, cause you’re kinda mine”.

The confession was in character and cute

Not "sexist" or "creepy"

I bet we got this ending because the publisher forced Hiro to play it safe because of the Bleach and Naruto controversies. So this is the salty IchiRuki and NaruSaku shippers fault, the ones in Japan at least.

Not at all. It would have made total sense for Natsu and Lucy since it was hinting at it from the very beginning. People were mad about those in Naruto and Bleach because those were built up and then the author's showed off how terrible writers they are by ending with the wrong couples.

IDK about nardo but IchiHIme was literally THE ONLY Pairing thoroughly built up through bleach.  As early as Arrancar Arc was a dead giveaway Kubo is setting those two up. An IchiRukia pairing wouldn't have been surprising though considering how close they were. Bleach had way bigger problems than its end pairings. I personally just didn't like RukiaRenji because it always felt one-sided on  Renji's side just like it felt one-sided for Orihime. I personally thought Orihime would end up with Chad considering how close she was to him and was always with him.

Ichihime was literally the only relationship that had explicitly romantic feelings highlighted even more so than NaLu here, down to a confession(which was implied Ichigo heard).

Rukia only got friendship flags with MC and then Renji was introduced and her romance path was obvious too. There was nothing romantic in on itself in the interactions which was further highlighted via contrast of arrancar arc versus ss arc in terms of Ichigo's behavior. I don't know. I personally saw it early on, but then Rukia became such a useless side character.

Oh yeah, perfect ending! Instead of having a time skip and showing them old and ugly, they just kept going on more adventures together! I really like this kind of ending.

Finally end..... finally.....

3/5

2/10

Im suprised because final chapter wasnt bad but thats dumb that Natsu and Lucy arent together. First 100 chapters were good but later this manga become garbage and shit. Hiro, you are an awful writer.

I hope that your next work will be hentai. :)

What a long, shitty ride it's been, but it did give me some good memories. And a LOT of good ass porn. So, I guess it was all worth it.
