Actually Natsu might not be aware that he was walking inside stopped time by Dimaria, so he assumed that Lucy died. I don't think there'll be any heartbeat or pulse inside a frozen time.
There's no excuse for Gray though. He let Invel the guy who supposedly killed Juvia leave and wants to kill Natsu, clearly his brain is dead already.
It is. but Invel will be irrelevant now, so it's the same as being dead.

Eh i don't really care about the checking of the heart pulse, I just find it hilarious if I think about it. I don't really understand the whole concept of Dimaria's time stop so your explanation though might be true.

Actually,I wanted a fight between them where Natsu was in his final END form,possibly his etherious one and lost his mind and Gray would be the one who would use his power to supress Natsu's demon side.I just can't stand pointless fights like these.While,I completely agree with your arguments,Gray didn't need to use his devil slaying power,because he didn't encounter any demons during the war so he wouldn't have lost his sanity in the first place,since he knew the concequences of this magic's usage.
I also wanted a good fight, but the way I see this fight goes is that both have totally lost themselves to their demons and are just trying to kill each other. I don't think Gray would be the one stopping Natsu/END, I think that was Lucy's purpose to begin with.

well Yes Gray didn't have to use his devil slaying and he knows how dangerous that power is but that's the main reason why he had that in the first place, it was his trump card in defeating END but instead of controlling that demon slaying power, he let the demon/power control him therefore losing his sanity again due to juvia's death and his past traumas hunting him and now natsu being END, this dude snapped.

I can't stop laughing after reading the chapter.
Some people was going around hyping that E.N.D. awaken so badly that it turns out Natsu only went berserk because he thought his girl died. XD
And Gray is fighting Natsu or END because he thought Juvia died.
Well at least we know now how this will be solved.
Actually END awakened because the tumour which was created by Zeref was developing AND add on to that, Lucy's 'death' (which actually was just her frozen in time), so no they are not wrong.
