Oh well,at least it's temporary. I imagine that once Makarov,Laxus and the thunder tribe rejoin the guild,they are going to elect the eighth guild master. Erza is just a placeholder in the end. The manga is nearing it's end. Makarov surely will find his successor soon,the running gag has ran it's course. I imagine that Laxus will get elected...if he accepts the title. Wouldn't be surprised if caracter development leads him to refuse it.
What intrigues me is this empire that is the name of the next chapter. It looks like it's related to Makarov's disappearance. Maybe they captured him because of Lumen historie?

Calm down, this next arc will be about Lexus being guildmaster is basically his birthright. Remember he went on a journey to become strong enough to always protect what he cares about most. Seeing how natsu has up the ante in powerlevels he must be doing some serious trainning

You do not have a birthright to be guildmaster. It's not something you're born into. This isn't like being a king. Makarov won't make Laxus the next guildmaster because he was 'born' into it. He'll make him guildmaster (if he does) because he believes Laxus has proven himself capable.
It's not exactly birthright more so it's in his blood he is kinda a born leader and after what happened with gildarts unless he changes his mind when gramps is about to die Laxus will be Guildmaster then Natsu when he is a lot older and more mature and then someone else part of the next generation
"It's in his blood" As of right now it's clearly not. We have seen nothing from Laxus that makes him a Guild Master at this point. If he's going to be guild master he has to be fully committed to the guild 24/7 and I don't see it. I'm that aspect I see that in Erza and Mira(even though her leadership could be called to question) The only argument you could make is that you can take him seriously since most guild masters are hilariously pathetic outside a few. And his growth as a character and his promise to protecting his friends. Being mature and being strong doesn't equal a good guild master. That applies to reality as well
Laxus havinh the ability to lead is questionable. Yea he's in charge of three people but that's not to account for him maintains an entire guild and participating in the welfare of said guild and getting bunkered down with political bullshit from the council.

Still Natsu and Happy just breaking into Lucy's apartment, it is classic.
Another nostalgia thing is Erza in her construction outfit, dam Fairy Tail guild hall has been destroyed how many times. And the wanted picture of Makarov hilarious.
So it looks like though she didn't except it yet, but still looks like Erza is the new guild master for now, though the plan is to bring back Makarov, so she is more of the new Macro, a way better version of him but still. She was one of my candidates so I approve, just glad it is not Natsu. The only concern is her close association with Crime Sorciere, sorry Jellal but we will need a new FT go between, one than for just a FT member but the guild master to be working with a bunch of fugitives could get us in trouble (though only Jellal and Merody are fugatives, Doranbolt let all the members of the Oracion Seis out(, maybe that is what Mest is for to be the new go between.
Still no Lexus or his team. Maybe they are in the council, but if they were Gajeel and Levy would know, would they? I think Lexus went on his own and did his own training like Natsu, Lucy did say other members of FT are in other guilds, than perhaps Fried is in Blue Pegasus, Evergreen in Mermaid Heel, and Bickslow in Quatro Cerbes.
Anyway it is a fine chapter, it is a let down that the new guild master is not as big of a deal as we thought, as this more of a fill in. My guess is when we find Makarov he will either become master again, or decline and name his sucessor, maybe if Erza does a good job, perhaps she will get the nod. Though I still prefer Lexus.

Laxus does scream leadership he is the grandson of Gramps. He has more than enough power to maintain as well as protect the guild. The only candidate better to be temp GM would be Gildarts who knows lumen historie and was GM.
Being the grandson of Makarov doesn't put leadership in his blood. Gildarts doesn't scream leadership either

And yet that's exactly how Erza got put as termporary master. Because she scared people aka POWER. Not because she earned it or deserved it. Double Standard much?
