                        Disappointed to say the least.

The actual plot of FT will be dragged on as the next few chapters will involve some meaningless fighting when the end result is obvious.

Yeah, I would've preferred they finish them off as a team, this will drag...but on the bright side I want to see Natsu fighting at full power so maybe we might see him using lightning against an opponent whose supposed to be the strongest out of them.

I would've hoped that this battle got settled quickly, but oh well, at least Mashima doesn't drag his fights out.  Also, perhaps Arcadius being there will save them from the fish.

Hopefully we get back to the final game as soon as possible.

Gotta agree with the rest- this week's FT wasn't something I'd call an entertaining chapter.

These new guys just seem a bit weak to me, I'm sure Natsu alone could easily handle these guys. Even the immunity to fire shouldn't matter when a little lightning gets thrown into the mix. This chapter just seemed like a waste and had too much of a filler feel. If these are the new main bad guys then it is going to be dissapointing.

It was a shame they didn't all get 1 shotted by Wendy instead of dragging it out.

@WolfWoods

Yes of course. But when an arc begins that promises plot you can't turn your eyes to that either.  There is such a thing as balance.

And I don't think there is nothing wrong with requesting battles with a little more on the line, call it character development or emotional/moral attachement from one of the two sides, generally a battle with some sort of meaning behind it.

And finally:

Though this is my general interpretation of the negative opinion, I have to say I'm not that much bound to it. I'd rather view this situation as two arcs being developed back to back rather as one looong arc.

Meaning that I neither hated this chapter nor loved it. I'm in between. Am I not allowed to do that even if the chapter in question is a battle oriented one within a battle manga?

I...don't think battles should be considered "dragging" on a battle shounen,you know?

Of course the obvious way of things is that some of the enemies are going to be fodder.That's just natural,and it's a part of it.

It's like playing an RPG and getting annoyed because every single boss fight drags the plot.It's truth,but the battles are a important part of the game,even the most obvious ones where the main characters can't lose.

And even if you can predict the outcome of a battle,that's hardly all there is to it.If you think that way,then you just don't like the battles at all,but you shouldn't complain since it's one of the most important aspects of this genre.

It was ok I guess, but barely anything happened.
