“Pretend to be my lover and join the social circle.”

Selena, the top star that had the entire world’s attention, was suddenly warped to Northern Duke’s land during an accident while filming. Kalcion, the Northern Duke that saved her from the infernal beasts, offers Selena a chance to go back home in return for collecting information in various social circles by pretending to be his lover. Selena quickly accepts Kalcion’s offer, but…

“Why in the world can’t you do this!?”
“Don’t you think that the answer to that should be obvious to you, the actress, not to me, the duke?”

There was a critical problem. The Northern Duke’s acting skills are horrible!

“…Let’s change the plan. I’ll seduce you instead.”

And thus the contractual relationship between the two started. Will Kalcion’s acting skill improve first, or will he start to have true feelings for Selena instead?

The main character's cuteness was adorable; it made me laugh uncontrollably while reading this novel. The ML (Main Lead) and FL (Female Lead) have such fantastic chemistry. Personally, I found the storyline engaging. In just three days, I devoured 139 chapters and thoroughly enjoyed the read. If anyone has the raw source or an alternative link to the translation, I'd greatly appreciate it, as I'm unable to create an account on Naver.

I adore this! The FL is both stunning and astute; she's relatable without being overly powerful. The ML exudes coolness, but beneath his composed demeanor lies a genuine heart. The slow-burning romance provides a welcome change from the typical instant-love stories. If you're seeking a tale featuring captivating, intellectually sharp, and humorous protagonists, along with a healthy love development, this is the perfect choice for you!

    Informal review:

Great! Oh, goodness, I was worried there might be a shift in genre after Chapter 100. Jerryel, my darling, is a fantastic character - she's a genuine appreciator of cool people and holds a special place in my heart as my favorite.

The antagonist, however, felt underdeveloped. I actually appreciate the author not going for the cliché of portraying him as a pitiful, helpless baby – it keeps the female characters grounded and relatable.

During the earlier stages of the series, up until Chapter 80, it was all about the girls going all-out in their battles. Our protagonist, despite having a similar energy to Eris from KMSimulator, is less clinically depressed, which is a refreshing change. He embodies the trope I adore – a scary yet charming character, with a possessive streak that's common in K-dramas but not overly excessive.

    Overall, I'd rate this closer to a 4.5 out of 5, but I accidentally input 4 instead – my mistake! \\(^-^)/ - 4ryuna_

"Absolutely delightful slow burn! If you've read 'Odalisque' and found yourself on the edge of your seat due to the intense tension, then you'll surely enjoy Selena and Kalcion's story, although this is the R15 comedy adaptation – ha ha ha. Selena, the female lead, is strong-willed, unafraid of confrontation, intelligent, and oh-so-likable. The core premise may be a cliché – a contractual relationship – but the unique elements, like Selena's acting skills, the ML's usual aloofness and incredible strength, make their interactions an absolute delight to read. The world-building is satisfactory, and while the conflicts aren't overly complicated, they keep the reader engaged. I wholeheartedly recommend this for a light, entertaining read with plenty of laughter.

The reason for this review is, of course, the fantastic translation work. Hats off to the team! Their website is sleek too, though it could use some improvements – thank you! As I near the end of the novel, the translation is almost complete, so I'll update my thoughts later."

I began reading this novel yesterday and I highly suggest giving it a try. The FL (Female Lead) and ML (Male Lead) have great chemistry; their relationship evolves intriguingly and they develop feelings for each other. ML Kalcion is a cool character - straightforward, kind, and even possesses a charming side, particularly during intimate moments with FL Selena. FL Selena is a smart and strong woman, and I really appreciate her character.

The initial chapters were entertaining and engaging, but as the story progresses, I can't help but feel that the female lead (FL) comes across as somewhat foolish in her actions. It would be great if she could learn about the contemporary world or gather information independently to better defend herself against the noble ladies. Although her quick thinking in unexpected situations is commendable, it would be more effective if she had a deeper understanding of her adversaries before confronting them. Despite the Duke's instructions for her to appear uneducated, it would still be beneficial for her to learn basic etiquette or familiarize herself with the society she's in.

It irks me that she often passively relies on the Duke's intervention during arguments with the ladies, despite being placed in a spying role within their social circle. The Duke brought her there to observe and gather intel, yet her lack of knowledge seems to hinder her effectiveness. She's supposed to embody an evil persona, but her actions don't reflect that. Given her background as a modern woman and an actress, one would hope she'd understand the importance of gathering information to catch a culprit. While expecting the FL to be overly intelligent might be unrealistic, a more logical storyline would involve some level of preparation, rather than merely focusing on eating, bathing, and sleeping.
