The Excellent Physician

The book offers engaging storytelling, but it falls short due to its flawed characters. The portrayal of family drama is commendable, but the main characters exhibit significant flaws. Despite being portrayed as intelligent and resourceful in their original life, upon time travel, the female lead abandons evidence-based medicine and resorts to ineffective traditional practices, misdiagnosing issues, which is highly frustrating. Moreover, the male lead's disturbing behavior is a major issue; he is revealed to be a rapist, with the narrative attempting to overlook this fact in favor of reconciliation with the female lead. Their initial encounter involves violent rape instead of consensual sex, yet the character's problematic nature seems to be brushed aside due to an emphasis on his perceived redeeming qualities. This handling of the plot is deeply unsettling.

I love this book. can't wait for the rest of it!
