This author has once again delivered an exceptional novel, featuring a unique Female Protagonist for the first time. It's not just because she takes on a military role, but rather because her character is optimistic, lively, and perpetually cheerful - a stark contrast to her previous reincarnation-based female leads. I appreciated how she diversified the Male Lead as well, maintaining a tsundere aspect but toning down the coldness and manipulation, making him more complex and emotionally layered compared to his peers.

My one critique remains the same - the lack of vivid descriptions in intimate scenes. The narrative always seems to abruptly stop short of any explicit content, not even hinting at the prelude or aftermath. Despite this, I consistently find myself drawn to the central couple and their engaging dynamics.

Bro, this book feels so familiar, yet it's a hidden gem. The female lead (FL), main lead (ML), supporting characters, plot, and romance are all executed flawlessly. Plus, get this - it has a heartwarming ending! I'm eagerly waiting for the translation, so I bought the original. Definitely planning to re-read it once it's translated.

Your writing is exquisite, captivating, and the characters resonate with authenticity. There's a significant improvement in your narrative compared to the earlier series about the ill-fated consort and military empress. The focus on revenge in those works was quite dark and less relatable. In contrast, the storyline involving the star general flows seamlessly, and the main character is endearing.

So far, the story has been quite engaging. However, there's a significant issue where the main character, MC, seems unexpectedly innocent in her revenge plans. Given her background as a general, I had higher expectations for her strategic thinking. Additionally, the male lead, ML, is quite the catch – he's charming, intelligent, cunning, and affectionate towards the MC, often playfully teasing her.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the entire narrative, and I particularly appreciated the extra chapters, especially the one focusing on Yan and his wife's story.

Wow, this author truly has a knack for crafting tragic love stories on the side. The writing is so powerful that it evokes strong emotions from readers. In the previous book, it was the ML's brother, and now there are two this time - I feel compelled to dive into the narrative to try and save at least one of these unfortunate couples. The teacher and queen pair were heart-wrenching, but Yan He's story with his wife was devastating. Initially, we saw him as an arrogant general, then witnessing his deep love for his family and his dreams for fatherhood. It was excruciating to watch him suffer and ultimately lose his life.

Though not a conventional couple, the Chu character (ML's secondary love interest) and the maid shared a tragic tale too. I wished for them to find happiness, but the constant interference of the crown prince and Chu's stepmother/fiancée complicated matters. Even if they didn't end up together, it's disheartening that the author might still have the main character struggle to let go of the FL.

The Chu character deserved a better outcome. His life was filled with cruelty due to lack of choice, and his kindness was often overshadowed. He genuinely wanted to do good, as evident in his actions when it was possible. A happier ending or at least a resolution where he could move on from the FL would have been fitting, but alas, that was not granted.

Despite the occasional long flashback sequences that could sometimes feel excessive, the novel is overall excellent. The intrigue provides a backdrop, but it's not the central focus like in the previous book. Initially, it seemed like a mix of conspiracy and romance, but it shifts to prioritize the characters' relationship development. The plot twists are resolved quickly after the ML discovers his feelings, allowing for a more intimate focus on their connection.

I'd rate this novel solidly 4.5 out of 5 stars. Having read two of the author's works, I can deduce that they often create protagonists with a cold, ruthless exterior but a hidden gentle side. They usually have striking appearances, a sad past that the FL helps heal, and experience love and emotions for the first time through her. This pattern aligns with many Chinese male leads, which isn't surprising.

One positive aspect was the portrayal of the ML as a caring father, avoiding the common trope of fathers feeling jealous of their children for the sake of their relationships with the FL. This was refreshing, especially since it involved a daughter.

In summary, the novel is engaging and emotionally charged,尽管有一些遗憾和重复的情节,但整体上是一次出色的阅读体验。

I genuinely and wholeheartedly adore this story. The protagonist, Heyan, is an outstanding female lead - she's strong, loyal, intelligent, and endearing. Reading about her fills me with joy. I equally adore the male lead, Xiao Jin - he comes across as very perceptive upon reflection. Both of their families are dear to my heart, especially her younger brother.

To put it tactfully, the main character's actions seem foolish. Her credibility as a former general is seriously called into question. How could it not be, considering she, a 16-year-old with no prior experience, joined the military and stood out due to her extensive knowledge and skills? Surprisingly, only ML noticed her suspicious nature, and even she was oblivious to it. A general, after all, should be aware that showcasing such abilities might raise eyebrows. She should understand the potential risks it poses. In summary, if you seek a serious plot, this might not be the right choice. 'The Empress' Livestream' offers a more suitable read, where the female lead, a competent general, possesses genuine qualifications for the role.

The love portrayed in the narrative strikes a balanced, not overly saccharine note, offering just the right amount of sweetness. Both the main lead (ML) and female lead (FL) exhibit a cool and impressive demeanor.

So far, everything has been excellent. My initial impression is that FL is likable, and the ML exudes coolness; despite not knowing much about him, I actually quite enjoy his presence. FL might seem overpowered, but I expect the same for the ML and perhaps other characters, which isn't a major concern since they all put effort in. The characters are well-developed, and the world-building has impressed me thus far. My curiosity regarding the ML is piqued, indicating that the novel is on the right track.

This is truly remarkable! I never imagined it would be both thrilling and emotionally charged. FL displays incredible strength, yet she has vulnerabilities, just like the male lead (ML). They often face misinterpretations, but rather than dwell on them, they choose to focus on self-improvement. I sincerely hope for more stories like this one to come.

I am currently penning this review at chapter 90, and I must say, I have genuinely found this novel enjoyable. It possesses a unique atmosphere that sets it apart from the author's other works, with a slower pace that emphasizes character development. One aspect that stands out is the spotlight given to supporting characters, which is quite uncommon in isekai novels that typically center around the main character. However, this story manages to give these side characters depth and affection, making them endearing. The progression of the relationship between the main character (MC) and the male lead (ML) is also done beautifully, evolving gradually.

The only downside is that the translation is still in progress. Although I attempted to read the machine-translated version, it was rather challenging for my understanding, so I'll patiently wait for the finished translation.
