The ancient saying goes: Most generals come from Guan Xi, while ministers come from Guan Dong.

He Yan was born to be a Star General.

She was merely a stepping stone for her family, and was used as her brother’s substitute. She had fought on the battlefields for years, bringing peace to Xi Qiang, stopping the barbarians… When her brother recovered, she gave up her position with great laurels brought to her name. Without further ado, she was married off.

During her married life, she was forsaken by her husband and even suffered from a strange illness, thereby losing her eyesight…

The young and pretty concubine stood in front of her, speaking softly: “The decoction you drank that made you blind was instructed by the elders of your family. As you know, the dead tell no tales. If you lived, you would be your family’s greatest threat!”

A great general of her time, the heroine of the country, died pitifully in the hands of those shameless women, who only knew to fight for a man’s favor… How absurd!

When she opened her eyes again, she had become the drill fields officer’s daughter, who was weak and arrogant, innocent and naive.

They had stolen her glory, taken her life, lead her army and betrayed her feelings! She had crawled back from the depths of hell and would take back everything she had lost, one by one.

Bring the world under her feet and with her beauty and nobility, overwhelm the nine prefectures!

But would she get out easily once she entered the barracks?

Hardly did she begin her adventures when He Yan met her arch-enemy of the previous lifetime, that young hunk whose “enemies would retreat as soon as he attacked”.

The chic and cool female general versus the handsome and ravenous young man. Two efficient generals team up to conquer the world!

This book is truly outstanding, and the translation is top-notch. Although it doesn't rely heavily on overused clichés, it effectively captures the essence of everyday life. The female protagonist is diligent and what sets this novel apart from others with similar storylines is its concise length - it strikes a perfect balance. It concludes at chapter 100, leaving readers eagerly anticipating the continuation of the translation.😊

This is my personal favorite among the author's writings, as well as many others. FL transcends the mindset of seeking revenge; instead, she discovers herself under her true identity, nurturing her personality and owning her own accomplishments. If her cousin had been a competent leader without causing unnecessary harm to protect their secret, I believe FL would have chosen to start anew rather than focus on revenge. Her motivation was to safeguard the people who fought alongside her, particularly the common folk, driven by a desire to rectify a wrong. The strength she gained from this mission resonates with me.

The connection between ML and FL is undeniable, their paths intertwining in a命中注定 manner. Both of them experienced profound loneliness during their childhoods, and ML played a significant role in her life, providing her with solace and fortitude in both her previous and current existence.

I have read this book in its original language six to seven times, and each time it deeply touches me. The depth of their appreciation for the simple joys of being together makes them one of my all-time favorite couples.

I recently completed this captivating novel, which stands out from the author's previous works due to its distinct writing style. It's fascinating to witness the growth and evolution of the author's storytelling. The descriptions of the male protagonist are less extravagant compared to their earlier works, yet still maintain a level of vividness. The plot isn't solely centered on revenge; instead, it delves into the personal development and relationships of the main characters.

The supporting characters are given ample screen time, contributing to the richness of the narrative. The novel's ending offers a realistic portrayal of life, acknowledging the harsh realities of war. The romance between the leads develops gradually, aligning well with the story's pace. The male lead takes his time to grasp his love, but once he does, he acts decisively.

While there aren't many overly romantic moments, the author maintains her signature touch of tenderness. I thoroughly enjoyed the book because I formed strong connections with various characters, making their journeys integral to the story. The female lead evokes positive emotions without resorting to clichés, making it easy for readers to empathize and root for her.

The way the story unfolds is both engaging and soothing. I appreciate how the author navigates the relationship dynamics and the protagonist's transformation. Her character is likable, bringing warmth and positivity to the narrative, much like a beacon of light in the lives of those around her.

I'm looking forward to exploring more of this author's work. Overall, this was a delightful read, and I thank the author for providing such an enjoyable experience.

This marks my third tale by the author Qian Shan Cha Ke, and it's another captivating one. Although the start isn't overly dramatic, the premise of the main character's rebirth always carries a profound backstory. The author consistently delivers with their work, and I was thoroughly impressed by their previous novels:

    1. "The Rebirth of the Mischievous Empress from a Military Lineage"
    2. "The Di Daughter's Marriage"

I've had the pleasure of reading both with machine-translated versions, and despite the language barrier, the emotional depth, especially during battle scenes, still managed to resonate with me.

I wholeheartedly recommend this novel - it never fails to deliver an engaging experience. You won't be disappointed! Highly recommended!

I have come across other works by Qian Shan Cha Ke, such as "The Rebirth of the Wicked Martial Family's Miss," "The Rebirth of a Fated Concubine," and "The Marriage of the D Princes' Daughter." Unlike those three, "Rebirth of the Star General" stands out because it doesn't revolve around a detached or vengeful female protagonist. Although the plot shares a similar theme of betrayal from family members, this novel delves deeper into human emotions.

The main character, He Yan, is an exceptional being – loyal, kind, intelligent, strong, honest, and skilled in military strategy. She is driven to protect her companions, nation, and friends. On the other hand, the male lead, Xiao Jue or Xiao Huaijin, is cunning yet compassionate, showcasing a distinct contrast from typical重生故事 where the female lead regenerates into her former self, revisiting the past. In this tale, she reincarnates as another woman in the same time frame, retaining her name but with an entirely different personality.

One particular scene that tugged at my heartstrings was when He Yan's mother made the ultimate sacrifice for her. It was truly a heart-wrenching moment. [折叠]

Up until chapter 143, the MTL (Machine Translation) version is surprisingly comprehensible. The storyline is straightforward yet engaging, with the FL's (Female Lead) and ML's (Male Lead) interactions from their previous lives gradually unraveled in the present situation. Similar to the character XJX in RMEML, the ML here is an enigmatic and charismatic general. I plan to continue reading through the MTL and re-read it once the translation is complete.

The narrative is leisurely-paced but engaging overall. However, there are a few instances where the storyline drags slightly, and the conclusion feels rushed in comparison to the book's initial慢节奏. Despite that, I'm still giving it a full 5 out of 5 rating because I found it enjoyable and it served as an effective distraction for almost three days, allowing me to finish it. The translation into MTL (Machine Translation) is decent, although the character names can be somewhat bewildering. If you're impatient for the translated version, I'd recommend it, as the group doing the translation does a commendable job.

I highly recommend this book! The main character (MC) and the male lead (ML) are fantastic, and it's primarily an action-packed revenge tale that delivers a satisfying narrative. The romance is well-developed, progressing gradually and naturally, with subtle hints from the start, but it truly blossoms towards the end without overshadowing the main plot.

The MC is a strong, intelligent, and skilled fighter, often taking charge and saving herself and others, earning respect from the ML who trusts her abilities. Their relationship is deep and genuine, expressed through their actions and support for one another, rather than constant declarations.

The story is grounded in realism, avoiding clichés like instant love or unrealistic character transformations. The MC's past plays a significant role, and she faces challenges that reflect real-life struggles. There are moments of vulnerability and growth, as well as unexpected twists that keep the reader engaged.

While I would have liked more intimate scenes, the balance of action, emotion, and character development is well done. The rollercoaster of emotions throughout the book, from laughter to tears, truly immerses the reader. Overall, this novel is a must-read that touches on various aspects of human connection and experiences.
