Even after altering his appearance and adopting a new identity as a student named "Kujou," the prince can't conceal the marking on his back. Once Kujou becomes a suspect, the minions must devise a way to get his shirt off! But how do you manage that in a school setting?
I believe that truly great shoujo comedies are few and far between. However, this one fits the bill. It managed to elicit a grin, laugh, giggle, or squeal from me at least once every minute. Not only are the situations amusing, but the artwork significantly enhances the comedic effect. (The style alternates between detailed shoujo art and highly simplified drawings—making moments hilariously exaggerated!)
For much of the series, there isn't an elaborate storyline per se. The premise is established within a few pages, and what follows is largely slapstick comedy. The minions attempt to determine if Kujou is indeed the prince, additional minion groups are dispatched from hell, and none of the demon factions communicate, leading to operations that conflict with each other...yet everything comes together into a cohesive narrative by the end.
What made the story endearing was the prince's enthusiasm for earthly life. He finds joy in everything and isn't the least bit cynical. He cherishes his friendship with Taiki, who has secrets of his own. For the prince, their bond is the most rewarding aspect of his time on Earth. The art style often rendered Kujou irresistibly cute and squeal-worthy!
The sole drawback for me was some occasional nudity from Kujou's assistant.
If you enjoy shoujo stories and art, appreciate a good laugh, and don't mind a wild, unbelievable, off-the-wall tale (with or without a conventional plot), I wholeheartedly recommend this!
