I Was looking for a mature/ecchi/psychological/Romance manga. Then I found this, so I started reading and it sucked at the start (just some middle school kid jerking off in the girls toilet... but then the plot thickened and I got interested. just not to spoil things; you will experience extreme sadness up to anger, jealousy and enlightenment. A must read!
In spite of the rating and comments this manga comes as a total surprise. You read the description and expect one thing but, as you start reading it, it quickly turns in something completely different. This manga came by storm and ranked up among top 3 in my book. Art is simple phenomenal and the story compels you and makes you read on. It touches the deepest reaches of human soul, and brings out the best but also the worst inside of us. And that is the true value of this masterpiece. So in an unlikely occurrence that this manga is still not on your complete list make sure you put it there as soon as possible.
I finished reading this and was just struck with that one thought. It's amazing. It rings true and I love how the characters are developed. The last bit was pretty fun. I was hesitant at first about the "onani" part, but the last bit just makes it funny.
I think it is a very good manga, aside from its intentional ploy to be contextual. Lovely characters (well, at least personally), ranging from lost-in-deep-thought quiet, sick young man to a vengeance-obsessive reclusive girl whose both personalities somewhat finds connection in secret, from cheerful and persistent (or maybe ignorant lol) guy friend to mysteriously high-spirited girl whose picture keeps the balance of the life of the title character. I love its honest approach towards the issue of isolation and how it handles its characters without blaming them on their own free will. I think the best part of it is its climax, as twisted and unprecedented as life can be, which refers the whole story into kind of realism. Many thanks to the scanlators.
I really loved it, at first i though it was some hentai manga but when you go deeper in the story you see that there is friendship, love, ... the end really touched. also at i though his expresion was alot kinder.
I can't deny that Onani Master Kurosawa is THE best manga I have ever read. Hell, it is one of the best stories I've ever read, and I'm a real bookworm. This manga made me feel so many emotions, made my heart skip a beat, had me so wrapped up in the characters and the plot, I've never felt that involved in a story before and I may never again. This manga is so mature and dramatic, the characters and the conflict are so well developed, and only within about 30 chapters (I think). I've recommended this to people in real life; eventually I only convinced them to read it on a dare, but every person I know who has read this (some were manga fans of many different tastes, and some had never even read manga before) have enjoyed it and became as emotionally involved in it as I have. I HIGHLY recommend this manga, no matter what preconceived notions you may have about the subject matter!
We'll this is a mature, tragic, feel good school life manga. And a GOOD one at that...
Love the seriousness in it and the fact that you change you concept about the manga as it progress... you really don't know whats coming next and i myself had split opinions many times and questioned them 😉
well to be honest it took me about two years and about four attempts to read this becaus I coulden't get used to his "hobby" and in the last attempt I was finally successful and read it from the beginning to the last page XD
what I have to say is that I was really shocked how good it was and I was really surprised at how I kinda felt with the lead (not all the time 'cause I'm a girl) and this manga sucked me in ...so much that my head somtimed screamed DON'T!!! and it took me 5 minutes to calm down and continue reading.
Honestly, i find masturbation as a way of growing up, but in some cases it also can be accepted like a way of escaping from reality. A lot of persons that have this habit can not control their emotions or thinkings, just like Kurosawa, who was a lonely soul~
I really like this manga, at the start i was like "this is weird~!" but then all was a great way of passing time. I learned a lot and i hope everybody thinks the same. You have to!
Very glad I read this one~ Really recommended~
I began reading OMK with extreme caution. I had no intention of reading it all the way through if it was only about a middle school student getting his kicks; though it took a while, he began to become a character with some depth. What made me actually consider reading it was, 'This is a story of mistakes, redemption, and the choices made in between.' And it was about that and emotionally growing up.
It may start out as a B-class perverted manga, but eventually OMK became a saga I'm glad to have read.
Masturbation. That's what kicks this story off, male masturbation. You might think; why the heck is this manga getting such high ratings when it involves masturbation? Simple answer; Onani Master Kurosawa is the best completed, and feel-good manga I have ever read that will forever be remembered.
This manga will make you feel sad, make you feel happy, make you feel disgusted, make you feel justified, make you feel sympathy; this manga has it perfectly tied up. So you're finally interested? Then let me tell you what this manga is about.
Kurosawa is a high school boy that doesn't do much in life. He hates interacting with people, and even his so called 'only friend' in his class he actually secretly dislikes. So he hates people, that's a given. At school, at the end of the day, he will go to the girl's bathroom in an empty school part, and start fantasizing about his 'victim', which will be a girl he had his eye on for that day. He will imagine doing the dirty deed with her and masturbates to it. After he finishes up, he makes sure no one saw him, because that would be disastrous. He will repeat this a few days, until one girl finally figures out what he does in that empty bathroom stall.
This girl is called Kitahara and gets bullied. A LOT. Kurosawa notices she gets bullied every day by 2 other girls. Eventually they bully the girl so much the entire class is laughing at her, and Kurosawa can't do anything but watch. He's angered; he wants to punish those girls for bullying a girl who can not stand up for herself. So he ... steals the bully's gymclothes and masturbates to get semen all over it (don't ask why, he thinks it's a fiitting punishment). He then puts the clothes back into their bag. The game has begun.
Now here comes a bit of spoilers, so don't read further if you don't want to be spoiled of the first 5 chapters or so.
This manga deals with bullying in the most realistic degree. The masturbation stuff is merely a plot device to help propel the compelling story about all these classmates. Heck, in even later chapters, masturbation is barely even mentioned. It is all about the classmates and how they interact with each other, try to bully people, try to punish people, try to apologize, try to become better and eventually they finish high school.
Onani Master Kurosawa talks about every minor character and develops them so well, it's unbelievable the amount of character development everyone in this manga gets. Of course the main character gets the most (you'll cheer for him in the end), but even the bullies themselves get some development.
You will be in tears of joy once you finish it. This masturbation ridden manga is a beautiful story. You have to read it; you won't find anything more finished and complete than this slice of life manga. I recommend it to everyone, even those who think the topic of masturbation is icky. You just can't miss out on this great manga.
You might read other reviews here stating that it's a Death Note parody, they couldn't be more wrong. There's one page in this manga that's a parody of Death Note, and that's it. It's just a pose the main character makes, the rest is all original story, so really, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
A truly unique take on a slice of life, school life drama. This story shows you both sides of the persecutor and persecuted then takes you down the path of growth towards maturity. The character development is way above par and you'll find many well rounded characters in the end. Pretty cool story, an absolute must read.
