Onani Master Kurosawa

At first, I thought it was one of those mature ecchi manga where there's no plot, where the main character just masturbates until the end, but who would have thought otherwise. The first half was indeed dark (which I found pretty interesting) then the second half was...heart-wrenching. I swear I cried at some parts because it's close to real life situations. Also, the characters are well-developed especially the main character. You can really see him grow as a person.

All in all, this manga is highly recommended. It's all about redemption, maturity, finding the courage to face reality head-on, and much more. This is definitely a slice of life manga. Also, don't be fooled by the title and the first few chapters ^^

Ok at first when I saw this because of the rating/reviews I thought I would scan through it and see what all the fuss was about and tbh I didn't hate it but I just didn't think it was my type of manga so I dropped it , but then I came across this again and decided to read this properly and yeah it was ok but still I couldn't get into it even after 9 chapters but I still continued and the outcome was really nice it was more of a lesson teaching story , a message that was trying to get across. I think this should be a book more than a manga it had that book feeling to it. Its not the best but yeah a nice simple story but not a story for everyone and not worth a rating of 10 its the kind of story /ending on what you'd see in a book is all + the guy became normal looking at the end hehe ! P.s a liiittle bit of exaggeration going on .

I can't fully express what I think of this manga but here are just a few thoughts; that is the amazing control and ability the author was able to put into the characters. Not only did the characters seem genuine, it was very convincing to take into the roles of those who were outcasted, and those who weren't. "Onani" showed many sides of human emotion, and for that I give this manga a lot of credit when it comes to being a very enjoyable read. Take into consideration very genuine human emotions, mixed in with teenage anxiety and what you get is Onani.

I will be short and simple. This manga was really good because it was unique- different from other mangas out there. you'd expect it to be some stupid shallow manga but its actually deals with more serious/mature themes and i thought it was pretty touching and very enjoyable to read.

The art is cute, nothing's drawn out of proportion and the artist knows his stuff, but I can't really get into this. It's kind of boring and i don't understand why he has to masturbate like that and i don't really like him as a character. I don't like any of the characters, they're boring to me. And also almost none of them act like real people, they're just uncaring and heartless. So I don't see what's so special about this...

I had seen this discussed many times on forums and the like and never with a bad review. Indeed all the people that seemed to have read it said it was simply one of the best manga they had ever read.
Thus i went into this thinking it would be the best manga ever. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. Don't get me wrong, now. It is very good. Excellent. There's just one thing that doesn't make sense to me...why didn't they do a dna test?

The ending respects slice of life, which is to say, life, very well. i don't want to say too much, so i'll just say that it was really very realistic.

I actually just finished reading it a few minutes ago and felt the need to post something up here, so i'll fix up this comment after some sleep.

In short: definitely do read. It may not be the best ever, but it's realism and character development is really exceptional.

is what defines slice of life. oh, wait. there are many way to make good slice of life, but that barrage of feeling, the relieving feelings that constantly pounded into my mind as the last pages being clicked only can be described as the word 'wonderful'. onani master kurosawa is like many people here says about; a bit disgusting turned choberigud. but i must say, no part in this manga is disgusting. there are many shounen/shoujo cliches that define disgusting, but no, not this.

long be short; uncommon starting point, unexpected paths, very good execution, very good follow through, these guys who write this thing should go pro!

Just know there's way more than what appears on the surface -- this is not about masturbation, but something far greater.

Clearly, the pun was intended but that's what it did for me. The manga makes you think as if you're Kurosawa himself. You see his inner self and his most private thoughts. The art emphasizes this and you end up feeling everything he feels. When he feels dirty, ashamed, angry, proud, happy or even in love. I have never read anything that delves into the mind of a character so well.

This is a story about how he deals with his perverse hobby and the mistakes along the way. Very dramatic and cheerful at the same time. I can honestly refer this manga as the best I have ever read.

At first I was skeptic about it. I thought "how can a manga about masturbation have such good ratings. Were the critics high?" But it turned out, they weren't. This manga is surpringly good. When I was done reading the last chapter, I felt like a chapter of my life was closing. This is the greatest "slice of life" genre you will read.

I can't believe a manga about masturbation made me fucking cry.

Like, seriously bawl. Heartbreaking and ridiculously sweet. Throughout the first chapters, you might think, "Oh god, this is so gross," but everything in this manga is done for a purpose, even the most subtle things. The random anime references seem out of place, but give it a little thought and you get some real insight into the main character's feelings - even if he doesn't admit them to himself.

Go read it. There's a reason everyone and their brother is giving this a 10.

This will be the shortest and easiest comment I'll ever make at Baka-Updates. Since what needs to be said about Onani Master Kurosawa has already been said, me blabbing any further would only be a waste of superlatives. I will, however, say this:

That this is a doujinshi is probably the best thing that ever happened to this story. Being a doujinshi, it is free from the shackles any other manga baring the same genres would normally be constrained to, and does what it wants, not what an editor wants. I laugh at the pretentious, self-applauding clowns who claim they can see how this ends after reading a few chapters. You can't. You were wrong. If you claim otherwise, you're lying. And I will argue that point until nothing makes sense anymore.

If you don't read this, you're a fool. If you do read this and don't like it, you probably didn't understand it's intent, therefore, are also a fool. If you did read this, understood it's intent, and still didn't like it, you're insanely hard to please, emphasis on the word 'insane'.

If I had a friend interested in getting into manga, this would be among the titles I would recommend to her/him.

That 1/2 a point is me wishing I had more to read. Selfish and perhaps a bit ironic, yes. But I feel my little rebellion is somewhat justified.
