Which is not a bad thing since that was established when he tried to do everything in his rogue arc. He learned to depend on his friends instead of shouldering the entire burden. This is represented by the armor which was given by his friends.

About the continuing on after OFA left, I can see him refusing fundings as the world was in ruins. Deku refusing rewards to instead divert them on rebuilding society is more in line with his character. He even refused the armor at first. He only accepted it because its already finished and will only be wasted if he didn't take it.

It appears to me that what happened was that upon his brother's death a God stole his brother's soul. Then the body was uninhabited, because the soul is timeless (maybe?) even though he went back in time to before the soul was stolen. The bad guys were able to put something in his brother's body, and it mimicked the brother pretty well, but now MC knows that the thing in his brother's body is NOT his brother. I find that very intriguing, and it makes me want to reread parts to see what signs I missed.
