Zelgadis is a Chimera, a fusion of human, rock golem, and blue demon, transformed by the Red Priest Rezo. Traveling with Lina and her companions, he seeks a way to regain his humanity. Zelgadis excels in various fields such as magic, swordsmanship, and more, but his true strength lies in his mastery of Shamanism. Throughout the series, he remains notably calm and serious, often being the only one in the group with a clear mind, though he can become easily frustrated when things go wrong or when he feels mistreated by the others, like being used as an anchor due to his increased weight from the golem part.
In the storyline, Zelgadis reveals that Rezo is his great-grandfather. The betrayal by his great-grandfather left him deeply serious, reserved, and burdened with inner turmoil.
