Jinxie Tenma is the superstitious and yokai-obsessed daughter of Damian Tenma, serving as the head of the Tenma family and mayor of Tenma Town. Jinxie was a fearful and paranoid individual, believing that almost everything around her was either possessed or a hidden supernatural being. She had the habit of placing warding charms on "monsters" she encountered (including Apollo Justice), but also placed them on herself and her father to protect them from possession. Jinxie suffered from somnambulism, commonly known as sleepwalking, which fueled rumors among the townsfolk that she wandered the village at night, possessed by Tenma Taro.
In court, Jinxie's emotions were initially dominated by fear due to her intense dread of yokai. She was convinced that the murder scene was crawling with these entities, mistaking everyday inanimate objects like statues and folding screens for yokai. One of the few things that gave Jinxie courage was the memory of her mother.
Jinxie shared a loving relationship with her father; he was always worried about and trying to protect her, while she made him a hat entirely composed of warding charms to keep yokai, particularly Tenma Taro, away. She was deeply disturbed by "her father's" confession and refused to reveal the Amazing Nine-Tails's true identity, fearing it would ruin him.
